Robin's Nest

A robin took up an preexisting nest on our porch and I’ve been snapping pictures when the momma is away.

I only learned recently that the birds called "robins" in North America are different to the birds called "robins" in Europe.

I could never understand the description "robin's egg blue" because European robins don't lay blue eggs!

Fantastic pictures. Do you know, roughly, the time between the first and last egg hatching? ~~It looks like the first two got quite a head start but the third one seems to have caught up just fine. ~~

EDIT: I misread the thread, didn't see that someone else had posted a nest with three babies. Based on the videos it looks like #3 wasn't doing well :(

They all started within 24 hours of each other, the third never fully hatched despite the chick poking holes in the shell, it’s a week later now and it’s still unhatched so safe to say it didn’t make it.

I do the same to the robins that live on the porch light!
