Once got a test back with 42 written at the top, spent a while freaking out about how I possibly could have failed so badly. Turned out I'd forgotten to write my name on it, and my teacher had written it in for me... My name is Liz. Served me well during my H2G2 phase.
What kind of sociopath would include the "h" at the end of Hitch in that acronym? That's some real honest-to-god serial killer prediction behaviour right there, sir.
I got a paper back one time in middle school where I briefly thought my french teacher had called me a retard but apparently I'd submitted something late.
My fourth grade teacher would openly announce grades when handing out test and he liked to scary the students. He would loudly announce someone failed if they got a high grade before they could see the test itself.

Hi, I’m Leon. I’ve more than 30 years of experience reading and that says salsa.

Back in the day we would call this a humblebrag, which was the style at the time.

RIP Harris Wittels

I used to be with it. But then they changed what it was.

That DOES say Salsa

Yeah and there are 4 lights.

Who creates a test with 59 points?
Venat0r@lemmy.world · 13 pts · 69d
it's probably just the number of questions that fitted on the page or similar
Rusty@lemmy.ca · 2 pts · 68d
I'd give that test a perfect 5/7.
FedX@quokk.au · 18 pts · 69d
Nah, I saw salsa at first too.

H2G2?
ater@piefed.world · 19 pts · 69d
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - 2 Hs, 2 Gs. The best acronyms are the ones that take several extra steps to explain.
CombatWombat@feddit.online · 8 pts · 69d
Shouldn't it be H3G2? Hitchhiker has 3 Hs, not 2.

Take it up with Douglas Adams :/ https://h2g2.com/
CombatWombat@feddit.online · 5 pts · 69d
If your ":/" is an actual unhappiness, I'm sorry; I meant this to be bone dry humor and not criticism.
EvilHankVenture@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 69d
More likely sadness that Douglas Adams is dead. That causes me actual unhappiness.
alanjaow@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 68d
I learned a few good lessons from him. Most apropo one nowadays is "The man who least wants to lead is the only one fit to do so."

(Hitch) + (Hiker) + (Guide) + (Galaxy) = H2G2

Why take a shortcut when you can go the long way around?

To be fair to the kid, their teacher's handwriting has clearly gone to shit after grading papers for 25 years while barely paying their rent.
RickyRigatoni@piefed.zip · 11 pts · 69d
Part of the reason my handwriting is so bad is because I couldn't accept criticism from teachers when they all wrote like this.

Teacher needs to either take a handwriting course or become a doctor
Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 2 pts · 69d
Or go COMPLETELY berserk and earn a doctorate in handwriting, somehow.
Adulated_Aspersion@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 69d
Look at the smart fucker with his salsa.
Ive struggled for years and never got a salsa on my tests.
Adderbox76@lemmy.ca · 5 pts · 68d
That most definitely says Salsa. It was only after reading the text above that my brain could even recognize the 59/59.
Bro's not dumb. His teacher has shit handwriting.

Yeah, that sounds all in good fun. I bet he'd say it with a sly smile.

That’s illegal nowadays. Teachers have to protect wtudents privacy. FERPA is the relevant law

Only in the US

Grade: Salsa. Because your paper was spicy.
