Aint a thing wrong with a 2004 Civic. Reliable, good mileage, and it doesn't spy on you.

wizblizz@lemmy.world · 15 pts · 85d

Mom doesn't know about when the VTEC kicks in

Kolanaki@pawb.social · 13 pts · 85d (4 replies)

The Civic's greatest power is also its greatest weakness. A friend of mine was constantly getting parts stolen off his because they're so easily modified, and the vehicle is pretty desirable for that and its reliability.

SupraMario@lemmy.world · 10 pts · 85d (1 reply)

It was the number one car for being stolen at one point. Then was Camry and Corolla.

No chop shop is stealing high end shit, cause no one that owns high end shit is buying used parts.

What if I stole my Lamborghini? Er... I guess I would just steal another if it broke... Or ran out of gas. šŸ¤”

A 2004 350Z is more fun for the money anyway. Plus having a manual transmission pretty much makes it theft-proof (in the US). Never had an issue with parts getting stolen, either.

Venat0r@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 84d

Honda make the best feeling manual transmission though...

best option for the money is a k swap honda jazz šŸ˜…

FrowingFostek@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 84d

Huh, I assumed she was a lesbian. Maybe cuz it's pride month.

RickyRigatoni@piefed.zip · 23 pts · 85d

2004 was a good year for honda civics fuck you mom play some need for speed idiot

GreenKnight23@lemmy.world · 10 pts · 84d (3 replies)

you show up to a first date with cookies and say "my mom made these", you're going to be lucky to even get a first date.

it's a bright red flag.

musubibreakfast@lemmy.world · 20 pts · 84d (2 replies)

Not really, it's entirely context dependent like most things in life

Septimaeus@infosec.pub · 9 pts · 84d (1 reply)

Yes. Honestly even if they were grown up I would first put this in the ā€œstill has good relationship with local momā€ column, a rare green flag these days. Only if part of a larger pattern of dysfunction would I treat it as a red flag.

But OOP is likely (A) a teenager, because moms don’t usually know anything about their adult kid’s vehicle, and (B) a boy, because this is obvious boomer humor. A mom knowing about their teenage son’s date is expected.

The gift of cookies just means she likes the gf and wants her to know. Green flag only.

Whats_your_reasoning@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 84d

Yeah, it absolutely depends on context. As a teenager, that's pretty cute. But at my age (mid-30s) I'd be weirded out that someone told their mom about me before we'd even had our first date.

Dojan@pawb.social · 9 pts · 85d

They look raw.

TheTechnician27@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 85d (2 replies)

Laced them with ketamine, I did.

Droechai@piefed.blahaj.zone · 3 pts · 85d (1 reply)

Turn the date into something to remember

okwhateverdude@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 85d

Pretty sure that's the exact opposite of what Mom's K-Hole Cookies would allow

slazer2au@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 85d

Mums got game.

RecursiveParadox@piefed.social · 5 pts · 85d

This method works, can confirm as both baker and receiver.

Dyskolos@lemmy.zip · 5 pts · 84d

What a questionable advice.

The lady interested in you, despite you drive such a car, is worth more than those you impressed with your poser-car. Money is nice, but not THAT important. Also a car say nothing of your net-worth.

When I went on dates back in the day, I bought a 1000 bucks car just for that.
