This reminds me of when my Dad had me watch Old Yeller with him. We literally had a dog named Yeller that looked nearly identical and was the dad of my puppy. Needless to say I was a very traumatized 4 year old after watching it.
that's true, i guess it should be called a good movie. but still fuck that movie. there's enough depressing shit going on in real life, i watch movies to escape, not feel even worse
I had the exact same reaction after reading Where the Red Ferns Grow, I read that right after Of Mice and Men. No wonder I like Slavic media I'm just as depressive as that lot.
Nah, I'll stick with kinship. The vaguely depressive Redneck field is more than enough already, don't want to accidentally find out it's a stacking effect.

It's the unprompted that gets me.

Promp means fart in my language so I read it as unfarted... Anyways

before watching marley and me: "hey this looks like a good wholesome funny dog movie, let's watch it"
after: "FUCK THIS MOVIE AND EVERYONE INVOLVED IN IT"

I had to read the book during summer vacation, I was in shambles thinking about it all the time for the rest of the summer
tomi000@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 97d
Why? Because it makes you sad? Isnt evoking strong emotions a quality of a good movie?

There are certain movies that you watch once and you never watch again.
That is one of them. I refuse to ever watch the movie again.
Just like I will never watch the Jurassic Bark episode of Futurama ever again.

As a slav myself, you basically already fullfill the requirements of being one, in case you want that is, it's optional of course

That's valid, it's a choice I would make as well :) (it is btw)

I just read the plot and, wow…..
Stop the movie before they go back north and I think I’d be ok.
Z745812939054@lemmy.zip · 8 pts · 97d
dude, reading the plot doesn't convey the depression this movie gives rise to.
no. "stop the movie before" nothing.
don't start the movie

Clickhole is basically the onion for clickbait, so no this is not real. But it is funny.

It was originally an Onion project, got sold off by the old owners back in 2020.

In a world where CGI can make a full-length live action Lion King movie, he’d rather choose dog murder?
