floor

No, taped along the wall. Floor is asking for trouble.

Sergio@piefed.social · 15 pts · 67d (1 reply)

If absolutely necessary you can put it under a thick carpet (like a Persian rug). But yeah, secured to the wall is better.

Doesn't appear to have enough rainbow leds. I think it's just a standard Apple i-mattress.

Gonzako@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 67d

Nah, standard debian I haven't gotten to rice up yet

There is something between this and redneck engineering where a piece of plywood has ATX holes for a mobo cooled by a standing fan. The electric guts hanging out in the open, a danger to me and itself. Mounted to a wall like a warped portrait of a landscape that no one sees. The future is not shiny and chrome but it works.

I don't have ethernet to my office on the second floor of my home but there's a coax line we don't use.

Ordered a moca kit. Traced out all the coax. Took off the splitters and made it a straight shot to my living room.

Upstairs I made an Ethernet cable to tack along the wall around to my office/gaming rig.

2.5 gig moca adapter.
Like 900 up and down to ethernet.

You do know that you don't have to directly look into the cable you just unplugged?

ironycanal@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 3 pts · 67d

Super-geeks have bad cable management skills it’s their one weakness

Draconic_NEO@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 1 pts · 66d

Put it under a rug or tape it down if you really need to run it across the floor. Just leaving it out in the open is a tripping hazard and asking to break something.
