A lot of people see programming as "type the right instructions in order to do a job".
But that's not what "programming" is. It's a process: take an idea, break it down to parts, translate those processes into code, then put it all together in a way that works. You can write countless variations of code that all accomplish they same task,but someone that's good at programming will do it in a way where the parts fit together elegantly and efficiently.
I've looked at beautifully written projects and messes of sloppy illegible code the technically "work". There's a difference: one is the work of artists and the other isn't.
Painters do the same thing when they take an idea and turn it into smears of paint on canvas. The only difference is the medium and tools.
There's a difference between "I haven't showered today, but otherwise keep myself clean" and "I routinely neglect essential basic hygiene to the degree it can be considered mental illness."

Blocking hexbear has nothing to do with a difference in ideas. Hexbear gets blocked because it hosts communities of some of the most obnoxious, unrepentant trolls known to the internet. Lemmygrad and .ml get blocked because said trolls made alts when instances got fed up and defederated from hexbear.

007 Goldeneye N64 did have (surprisingly modern) dual stick control layouts ... but it required 2 controllers. Of course it was ruined by how shitty the stock N64 controller was, never-mind having to hold one in each hand.
I have a class 3 cargo bike with a 750w hub motor and 0 through 5 for "assist level". At level 5 it accelerates as fast as a car and holds 28mph with minimal exertion on my part. Level 5 is only used in traffic: level 1-2 is "rides like a regular bike" and 3-4 are for heavy cargo, head winds, or nasty hill climbs.

A bunch of people set up their own "lemmy" servers (called an "instance") and gave them different names. The cool thing is all those different servers talk to each other with the ActivityPub protocol. I can browse and post in communities hosted on thelemmy.club and you can do the same on midwest.social. In fact you posted this AMA on a 3rd server (lemmy.ca) in their "Ask Me Anything" community.
Any social media site that uses ActivityPub can talk to a site that also uses it. Some sites are more Reddit like, some are like Twitter, etc.
One thing to know is lemmy doesn't have an "algorithm" like Reddit -- it's not going to feed you content it thinks you'll like. You have to seek out communities and subscribe to them. I suggest clicking Communities at the top of the page, then clicking All so you can see all the communities on all the different instances (servers) running lemmy or something compatible.
E.g. I'm subscribed to some communities on my instance @midwest.social, but there's a bunch of bigger communities on other instances I'm subscribed to as well.
I literally gave away my quest 3 headset because of facebook's walled garden ecosystem, ads, and telemetry. If I didn't know someone that was about to buy one I'd have recycled it.
If Valve did the same shit with the Steam Frame I wouldn't even accept one as a gift. I will absolutely pay a premium for hardware I actually own.

Maybe not "pheromones", but there's certain aspects that make up our "smell" that people can detect. Compatible immune systems (i.e. "could we likely produce healthy offspring?") and apparently fertility can affect smell in a way people are sensitive to.
And sexuality plays a part too. People prefer the smell of the gender they're attracted to.

I truly appreciate that a company is doing something radically unique and I understand taste is subjective.
