Our right wingers already want to fund investigations into finding out whats making socialist ideals rise. So were basically already there tbh. A large portion of socialist voters are immigrants, no wonder the right wing government would want to target them.

Swedish right wing is center left in international politics. Even the fucking Sweden Democrats have policies that align with the old guard Social Democrats (left wing) on social issues. The main difference is that the Sweden Democrats are racist fuckers.

Just because the overton window is constantly shifting to the right doesn't make the parties less right wing. A party can be socially "left" (in very heavy quotation marks) and still rasict as fuck. They might want a social security net for "their" people but not the outsiders for exmple

I know people on lemmy like to paint everything with the same brush and don't like to get into nuances of other countries' issues but the reality is that the immigration policy created by the Swedish left failed. It would be great to have progressive immigration policy that works but the left failed to create one there. This is the alternative they are trying now.
