Always money in selling shovels. Hopefully big tech is digging their graves.

Nvidia isn't even selling shovels, they are selling the shovel manufacturing machine.

None of their customers are going to be able to use the compute they're buying to make more compute. They're selling shovels.

Kind of weird that Nvidia is in there to boost the plus side. That's like including a road construction company in a car sales chart

Yeah if you hit the 'hide infrastructure' button itll remove all the 'value' that comes from that.

Since most of this is cyclical like it says in the disclaimer these numbers are most like too high as well because some of the profits between each other are going right back into each other.

They make their own models Nemotron and robotics.

Kinda. I mean, like fuck no not at all. But it is for a small handful of people.

gravitas_deficiency@sh.itjust.works · 16 pts · 85d

And, to be fair, Nvidia, because they’re selling the shovels

Scammers and low-quality content producers. Truly the people you want to succeed in business.

According to Ed Zitron's latest reporting, OpenAI's actual numbers over the last two years are much worse than what previously public data suggested. Curious when we'll see that reflected here, and when real figures will come out for other providers who are also almost certainly fudging the numbers

NewOldGuard@lemmy.ml · 3 pts · 85d
