They know that Reddit users don't trust the AI assistant and are at least sceptic sceptical. Force feed it to them anyway…

I want you to think about whether or not in the context of the post they meant skeptical, because they did indeed mean skeptical.

I also want you to think about whether it's likely that I did indeed know the definition of both words before I made my comment.

And then you have a nice day, ya hear.

"Septic" is not spelt "sceptic" in any variant of English.

You misread the comment, and you agree with them

Skeptic is spelled sceptic in Britain, but septic is not.

prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 1 pts · 60d (1 reply)

FYI, that person is wrong, they do spell it that way in the UK.

You’re repeating what I said while saying that I’m wrong which suggests you misunderstood the comment chain.

kungfuratte@feddit.org · 2 pts · 55d (1 reply)

in my defense. English is not my first language and I made a false friend here, because the German "skeptisch" (adjective, meaning "sceptical") is close to the English substantive "sceptic"/"skeptic". :)

deliriousdreams@fedia.io · 1 pts · 55d

Yeah. Someone else already corrected me on the European spelling so I learned something new, I guess.

Edit: My responses were a bit harsh and unreasonable and I'm sorry for that.

Honestly, most of them aren't very skeptical either. The number of times I've seen a top comment plastered with awards that's just blatantly wrong it's quite high.

No one reads past the headline, and the ones who do never read past the top comments. And none of them ever verify the information in the comments as correct.

Redditors are just as easy to fool as anyone else.

prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 1 pts · 60d

They spell it "sceptic" in the UK.

Which I always found strange... Given how they pronounce "sceptre", I dunno why they wouldn't just use a 'k' for "sceptic."

Septic. It’s a shitshow.

Eat the fucking rich. Burn the data centers. Dismantle the stock market and billionaires and oligarchy.
