I'm not from UK, I'm American. Is this legal? If "Count Binface" were to actually win the election, what would happen?

He would become a member of parliament and Farage would no longer be a member of parliament. He might have to take off the Binface costume to actually enter parliament though

Count Binface has run in other elections before as a joke of sorts. It's just that the major parties are not running anyone in this election. Farage resigned and then immediately ran for his by-election to pause the investigation into his 5 million pound crypto "donation" since the body doing it can only investigate while he's a member of parliament. The other parties aren't running so that Farage doesn't get the narrative win of the byelection making him "vindicated by the people"

Cheesus is literally every far-right populist on the whole planet greedy and corrupt?

I mean there's plenty other reasons to hate them, but greed without ethical constraints seems to be one requirement.

Given that far-right politics are about domination and performative cruelty, being greedy and corrupt is consistent with its principles. Any far-right politician who wasn’t out for self-enrichment would be at risk of being denounced as “woke”.

They may not always be more greedy than average, but they have no morals, and that's the part that makes them easy to bribe.
They don't understand that it's a problem when people give them money.

Thanks for an excellent explanation, I have avoided articles about Farage, because I don't think he deserves attention.
So it's nice to finally understand what all the noise around him is about. 👍

The comedian playing him could take the seat. Look up H'Angus the Monkey, former mayor of Hartlepool.

Oh god please... That would be the biggest and most hilarious backfire of all time.
