So was gonna throw another DT partay either on the 29th of Aug. or 5th of Sept. Won't be a games thing (that's cat's job, not stealing that) just a simple get together for everyone if anyone is keen.

Everyone here and SO's welcome.

Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 43d

Keen!

StudChud@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 43d

Should be good for that methinks :)

TheWitchofThornbury2@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 43d

Sounds great!

Catfish@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 43d

Calendar looks clear. And if you or anybody else wants to do games go right ahead, everybody has different stuff after all! No territorial pissing here.

Force_majeure1234@aussie.zone · 8 pts · 43d (2 replies)

I bought a lotto ticket for the first time in years for tonights Saturday lotto, not sure why - I'm feeling lucky!

🍀🍀🍀

Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone · 8 pts · 44d (4 replies)

Been chatting to the cousin on messenger.

Mixed feelings. That side of the family were, let's say, less than supportive after my mum passed away.

But he needs help, being in a country by yourself can be tricky without support.

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 44d (3 replies)

I wish you all the best of luck.

You are both so brave too. 😘

( do not recommend being in a country on your own. It's pretty awful when you literally have no next of kin to put on forms 😔)

Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 44d (2 replies)

Cheers :)

Yeah it makes things harder. I don't have a wife and kids to worry about so my experience will be different to his.

He's in Sydney so I'm heading over in a few weeks. I haven't been so it'll be cool to see a new city.

TheWitchofThornbury2@aussie.zone · 6 pts · 44d (1 reply)

Sounds like he's not actually moving into your house with you. That may make things a bit easier. Also Sydney is very different from Melb in the small details. Open communication lines may be the best way to help navigate a relationship. Best of luck!

Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 44d

Appreciate it :)

If I can be up front, I think there's definitely a degree of envy on my part because he had the family around him to help.

But that'll pass.

Remind me to look into training the city's ravens to find money and jewellery

RustyRaven@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 43d (1 reply)

Just make sure you pay appropriate wages. Plus penalty rates for weekends and night shift. We are unionised, you don't want to get on the wrong side of the flock.

Pilk@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 43d

All ravens will be generously compensated. The cafeteria will be replete with insects, nuts and chopped fruit (small mammals on Sundays) at no cost.

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 43d (2 replies)

Pickpocketing or random stuff that people have dropped?

Pilk@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 43d (1 reply)

Yes

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 43d

Cool. I have a side hustle idea for you. Train a raven to retrieve lost airpods. Hold them for ransom until the owners cough up. You're welcome.

Bottom_racer@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 43d

Interesting venue last night. Good sound, interesting back rooftop area with lotsa plants. Lotsa people which is odd for that music. Wasn't expecting that.

Go to pay for a beer, first thing that comes up on the eftpos that you have to get past is choosing a tip.

Nope.

TheWitchofThornbury2@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 43d

Rain not far away. I'm feeling nearly as lucky as Force becos the laundry got 90% dry already - just needs a short buzz in the dryer. Yay me!

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 44d (3 replies)

Good morning. 😘

Catfish@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 44d (2 replies)

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 44d (1 reply)

Catfish@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 44d

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 43d

spent 20 minutes doing some tidying in the back garden and feel better for it

it's just a small amount of work and the place is still a mess but it's something

Catfish@aussie.zone · 6 pts · 43d (12 replies)

GoFest so far. Shiny tynamo, magicarp, duskull, tropius, and 2 magmar. More tropius and buffulant than keepable, to the mulcher with them. And I I can just find a B I shall have a full unown set.

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 43d (6 replies)

i know one of those words, magicarp, I assume it's about Pokemon 😊

Catfish@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 43d (5 replies)

Indeed, big 2 day event currently

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 43d (4 replies)

cool 😊

I had one at home

Catfish@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 43d (1 reply)

I'd call that a shiny Goldeen rather than the carp

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 43d

yes, they are black with a gold sheen 😊 the big ones are so pretty

Bottom_racer@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 43d (1 reply)

You win the IRL pokemon lol.

What a pretty fish :)

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 43d

it's a black moor, was about 15 cm 😊, they grow big!

Catfish@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 43d (1 reply)

Hey @SpinMeAround@aussie.zone need a shiny buffalo? Got a spare, and I trinket'ed you 🖤

SpinMeAround@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 43d

That would be amazing, thank you so much!! I got so excited when I saw the trinket that I screenshotted, eep!! So glad you got some brilliant wins, I went into Queensbridge Square and got squat (but could actually do the raids, so wooooo!!!), but just enjoyed seeing the different clothes and merch people were rocking. Made sure to take my Tokyo Station Pickachu with me!

Catfish@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 43d (2 replies)

Holy fuck! shiny B unown

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 43d (1 reply)

that's the B?

Catfish@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 43d

These are pretty rare, that I got the last one to make my set in a shiny is big (to me)

tombruzzo@aussie.zone · 6 pts · 43d

Took the kids to swimming then a pretty perfect trifecta after. In the industrial area where my work is a new playcentre opened in one if those identical warehouse blocks. The block up from that had a trading card place for the girlfriend to look at. And the block up from that has a cannoli and panini place we went to for lunch instead of shitty placecentre food.

Then we cam home and watched Ghostbusters, the kids' latest obsession

imoldgreeeg@aussie.zone · 6 pts · 44d

Spent today blobbing around and watching the clouds build up listening to an audiobook..I'm about half way through Clare North's songs of Penelope trilogy which is basically what Penelope did while Odysseus was off doing the odyssey. Four out of five hobbits.

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 43d

Sounds interesting. I have two credits so I just might try it. 👍

A late night and early morning reading The Testaments by Margaret Atwood. I recently re-read The Handmaid's Tale because I'd read it for uni decades ago and forgotten a lot of it, and was interested enough to read the sequel. Thoroughly enjoyed both books.

tone212_@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 43d (2 replies)

Have you seen the TV series? As someone who hasn’t read the books, interested to know how it compares.

PeelerSheila@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 43d

I've only seen bits of it, but it struck me as fairly intense and compelling. I read that Margaret Atwood herself liked the series, so that's a pretty good endorsement.

Catfish@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 43d

The first season is very close. I've not read Testaments, but the show goes off into its own world after then. I find the fact the handmaid never has a name a feature of the book that the show misses, though I understand why they changed that.

tombruzzo@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 43d (2 replies)

Pretty impressed with the robot vacuum cleaner. It was making some noises I didn't like so I flipped it over and took out a Q-tip and an elastic band in the brush head. It was still making sounds so I opened it up and found a little 3D printed articulated dog and a whole clothespeg lodged in there. These things can put away some junk

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 43d (1 reply)

I really like mine, it gets under the beds and furniture well. Just have to use it often, clean it often, and sometimes use the big vacuum cleaner for the edges of the room

tombruzzo@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 43d

I didn't expect it to fix all our cleaning problems but it makes thing so much easier. It feels great to walk out of the bedroom after the kids go to sleep and the floor is clean.

And I was telling one of my kids how we still have to clean up before the vacuum cleaner runs so it doesn't eat something that makes it sick

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 43d (2 replies)

Rain. I don't mind. 😊

StudChud@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 43d

Funnily, the in-built weather app thing on my pixel was pretty damn close with its rain timing. It said I should expect it at 7pm, and 10 past 7 is when it hit.

Not bad at all.

SpinMeAround@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 43d

I'm excited to go to sleep listening to it!

StudChud@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 43d

IDC what anyone says, I love Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel.

I wanted to play as Claptrap since playing the first game 10,000 years ago. This game gave me that dream.

He's so annoying, I love him

RustyRaven@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 43d

Currently 5.5^o^ with a feels like of -1.1^o^ The wind keeps blowing open the dog door, I had to block it off. I don't think Mr Woof wants to be out there anyway. 🥶

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 43d

TheWitchofThornbury2@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 43d

Rain is coming down sideways.

Solid dinner tonight, randomly ran into relatives we haven't seen in over 10 years.

I teared up a bit. My kids met some cousins first time today. Straight away added each other on social media. Verdict so far is they're chill.

Can't ask for much more.

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 43d
