I once watched one eat a dead possum, 3 feet from me. He was holding it with these massive talons, and tearing off strips of meat with his fearsome looking beak. He did not look like someone you'd want to mess with. Absolutely magnificent.
Meanwhile, a line of buzzards sat on a brick wall behind him, watching on forlornly, hoping the eagle would leave something for them.
