I normally try to remember this but whenever I put it into practice I'm immediately reminded that yes, yes they are thinking about me that much.
I tend to be a very polarizing person. People either love me or hate me. As a result I'm constantly having to deal with other people's preconceived judgements about me and if I don't meticulously dance around the line between the two my whole life falls apart.
It also doesn't help that I look like I'd murder a puppy in front of a child for fun so that's cool too.
Yeah and just like the top comment on every self censored meme is someone complaining about the censorship yet the post still gets over a thousand upvotes.
There's clearly a lot of people who are perfectly fine with ai slop and self censorship.
Even though the majority of Lemmy says they despise it these posts are still getting a lot of traction
Honestly lemmy has been more and more welcoming about this kind of shit and it's actually pissing me off considering this is supposed to be an intellectual leftist space.
I left reddit because of this kind of "oH wElL eVeRyOnEs DoInG iT" shit.
It's just like the self censored memes people keep posting that get a thousand upvotes. The fact that people here are upvoting this shit shows me lemmy is just as full of self righteous fuckwits as any other social media at this point.
Whether it's all bots or not I'm losing faith in this platform and that says a lot because I still regularly scroll through TikTok.
I use it for porn. Thats it. And if they lose even a single other porn subreddit that I'm into I'll quit it entirely.
The only reason I use reddit for porn is because fedinsfw.app honestly sucks. It was made to replace lemmynswf.com but it doesn't even hold a candle to it.
Ironically I just went through a deep dive about this guy reading multiple news sources and they all say he recently lost his job as a vp for the sales department of the American heart association.
So yeah. Dude was stressing and I get it but, fuck. So much unnecessary death just because people willingly vote against their own self interests.
