They promoted the slop-machine with "Scandinavian apartment" didn't they?

Dojan@pawb.social · 34 pts · 23d (6 replies)

Aah. That makes sense. I was trying to figure out why exactly the walls were Norwegian.

boonhet@sopuli.xyz · 33 pts · 23d (5 replies)

Probably because world cup

Dojan@pawb.social · 5 pts · 23d (4 replies)

I don't know what this means.

9point6@lemmy.world · 28 pts · 23d (3 replies)

England are playing Norway today in the world cup

Ireland has some history with England

Dojan@pawb.social · -1 pts · 23d (2 replies)

Ah, I see. It doesn't seem unrealistic for this to just be AI slop that someone prompted. Could be entirely automated even.

9point6@lemmy.world · 18 pts · 23d (1 reply)

Oh it's almost definitely AI, I don't expect Dublin fire station to have a Photoshop guy

Was just giving the context

kilgore_trout@feddit.it · 3 pts · 22d

I don't know this "photoshop", I am confident they just painted a whole apartment in order to take the photo.

fushuan@piefed.blahaj.zone · 28 pts · 23d

No, they probably used AI but the walls are very intentional. The whole post is promoting the Norwegian football team to stick it to England.

It has the Gemini logo in the corner :(

doeknius_gloek@discuss.tchncs.de · 8 pts · 22d

Either that or we need to investigate how this lady manages to hover on the wrong side of the ladder.

UnfortunateShort@lemmy.world · 49 pts · 23d (4 replies)

One per floor? In Germany you have to have one per room

SeductiveTortoise@piefed.social · 17 pts · 23d (1 reply)

Except rooms where you can expect smoke or ... Was zum Geier heißt Wasserdampf auf Englisch?

Steam. Jesus Christ, I'm an idiot.

Sergio@piefed.social · 13 pts · 23d

Wasserdampf

I love this word. "Water damp". Steam. I love that.

Valmond@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 3 pts · 22d

I have one per wall, and test them every hour.

Sidyctism2@discuss.tchncs.de · 3 pts · 22d

Was about to say, the formula i know is: one per room and tested approximately never

yetAnotherUser@discuss.tchncs.de · 23 pts · 23d (1 reply)

Once a week?? Why not once a day to annoy your neighbors even more?

toofpic@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 23d

Sounds like a perfect thing to fail - like flossing every day twice

DrCake@lemmy.world · 13 pts · 22d

Time to repaint that room for the 7th time this World Cup

CombatWombat@feddit.online · 10 pts · 23d (5 replies)

I hate the English too, Dublin Fire Brigade, but not everything has to be World Cup themed.

General_Effort@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 23d (1 reply)

Doesn't it, though?

CombatWombat@feddit.online · 3 pts · 23d

I wouldn't complain

^ Incels when people enjoy sports together for one month every four years.

CombatWombat@feddit.online · 1 pts · 23d

I assure you my guy, I will not be waiting four years before going to another soccer game. NWSL is in the middle of their season, and we're in the playoffs for USLW and USL2.

Zier@fedia.io · 10 pts · 23d (3 replies)

Norway has entered the room.

floquant@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 7 pts · 22d (2 replies)

Norway the room has entered

boonhet@sopuli.xyz · 2 pts · 22d (1 reply)

The enter has Norwayed the room

Zier@fedia.io · 2 pts · 22d

The room, Norway has entered.

RedIce25@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 23d (3 replies)

...what's with the walls?

Skua@kbin.earth · 25 pts · 23d (2 replies)

Norway are playing England in the football world cup tonight

gedfromgont@piefed.ca · 8 pts · 23d (1 reply)

You are saying that like it is a sane explanation of the crazyness depicted in that image.

Skua@kbin.earth · 21 pts · 23d
  • Norway are playing England in the football
  • Ireland historically dislikes England
  • The room being painted like that is very heavy-handedly implying that the Dublin fire brigade is supporting Norway because they want England to lose

Average Nationalist (from every country):

Sylvartas@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 5 pts · 22d

No you see, the walls are gonna be harder to repaint if they are burned.

Evotech@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 22d (5 replies)

My nest pucks tests themselves every month. Its quite nice. They beep and check if the others can hear it.

SalmonTractor@discuss.tchncs.de · 4 pts · 22d (4 replies)

Surprised they still work. Nest smoke alarms are a dead product. Find something better now to replace them with.

They were amazing tech created by a Boulder start-up to reinvent home safety, but Google murdered them.

Already EOL and discontinued.

Evotech@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 22d (3 replies)

They work, and beautifully at that. Supported by both the nest app and googles own home app.

Why replace them. Not like the sensors in there will stop working any time soon. They have a 10 year shelf life

Wispy2891@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 21d (2 replies)

It's from Google. They already remotely killed all the 1st and 2nd generation nest thermostats. The sensor there would still work for decades, but you can't set the temperature anymore because they decided that the line must go up

Evotech@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 21d (1 reply)

Google still support the nest smoke detectors though

Wispy2891@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 21d

For now

AnalogAllamma@lemmy.world · -1 pts · 23d (3 replies)

I get the feeling many modern smoke detectors (In the US anyhow) monitor more than smoke and carbon monoxide. The ones I've seen in apartments are built like tanks and are around 5x the size of a hockey puck. They have an LED light constantly flashing green with a red every ten or so. I'm betting they could easily install cameras types and nobody would think twice.

In my last apartment, I got up close to it one night and saw the product branding. It was "KIDEEZ". What the actual fuck?

awfulawful@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 4 pts · 22d (1 reply)

Are you sure it wasn't Kidde, one of the largest manufacturers of smoke detectors?

AnalogAllamma@lemmy.world · 0 pts · 22d

Well that makes it even creepier then. Am I the only almost old fogey that remembers that word and the word that always followed it around the 80s and 90s?

outerspace@lemmy.zip · 2 pts · 22d

Kideez nuts!
