Plurality of views, libs should be happy they can access censored media posted by dissidents who could face arrest for it in Europe. Yet they are for some reason incredibly mad about it, could it be that they lie about the freeze peach?
Umm… censored media? More like Russian propaganda. And yes, I am aware that western propaganda exists and we consume it nevertheless. As far as I’m concerned the Russian interest to destabilize Europe (which is of course a reasonable thing to want on their side) is real and should not have a free pass. But you do you, just don’t frame it as west bad for censorship. How much of western media is freely accessible in Russia?
It seems like the West -- especially the united states -- gets firehosed propaganda from everywhere constantly, but it's divided into tiny and easy to miss pieces w each piece getting dispensed from CNN, fox, NPR, BBC, le monde, der Spiegel, etc or in movies and in pop culture.
Outside the west, they have a dedicated propaganda channels that serve the same function that fox news does for americans so it's easily disregarded.
Also: Western media is spoonfed to foreign audiences partially for the same reasons americans want to access it; but primarily as a means to inject pro-western narratives through non-governmental agencies like the national endowment for democracy; radio free Asia; USAID; etc. Also, in many cases local media sources themselves are captured by various means and end up becoming pro-western propaganda peddlers themselves.
a very recent and embarrassingly transparent example of this happened recently in Mexico, targeting President Sheinbaum. The tv station named "tv azteca" is owned by a trump ally and they coordinated efforts w the american non-governmental agencies in Mexico to start another "genz revolution" like the agencies did in Nepal a year before.
Cases like Mexico prove that the us empire is in decline, but cases like Nepal or Ukraine prove that it's still capable of doing a lot of damage on its way out.
What's actually being said is that the west is hypocritical, preaching one thing and doing another. Also, your whole argument is demonstrably nonsense because during the Cold War the west was secure enough to not block any Soviet media. It's not like Russia has a more powerful propaganda machine than USSR did. What changed is that now there is domestic discontent in the west due to collapsing living standards which is what's making people open to alternative views. Banning outside media is just an attempt to sweep underlying material problems under the carpet.
Reports from RT and TASS frequently diverge from those of Western and Ukrainian sources. This divergence is often characterized by contradictory factual claims rather than a binary of "truth" versus "lies." The continuous nature of these contradictions aligns with the operational pattern of state media during information warfare, where narrative consistency with official policy is the primary objective. The organizations generally view their work as exposing the hypocrisy of Western narratives rather than engaging in an absolute pursuit of objective fact as defined by adversarial standards.
Media analysis is deeply subjective and context-dependent. The assessment of whether reports constitute "lies" is highly politicized, as different entities apply different standards of evidence and adhere to varying frameworks of international law and fact-checking.
Enjoy your hard right wing, capitalist, oligarchical slop with Russian flavor
If you accept state propaganda just because it is not "western" flavor, you are just as bad as the morons who just consume all the western propaganda uncritically.
Massive self report that you literally can't even imagine a worldview that isnt a product of slavish obedience. "You don't hate The Enemy you have been instructed to hate for the spurious reasons you have been instructed to hate them, it must be because you are a dumb automaton."
That's cool man, just lay out your follower-ass psychology for all to see.
It's so cool how you guys have fun little words to pathologize anyone who disagrees with omnicidal liberalism, it would be terrible if you had to think about these things on their own terms.
