Sounds very temporary. It absolutely sounds like they're expecting him to return soon, so the guy probably got the flu, or food poisoning, or something that will pass quickly, but still makes it impossible to perform.

i just watched a recent Cure concert dvd and could not stop seeing Fred Armisen every time Simon Gallup was on screen.
