I hear either one can be used to break bones, so there's really no wrong answer.
I feel like I'd have more fun with the stick, though. Carrying around a rock just feels like carrying around extra weight. Carrying around a stick can feel like carrying a sword, can help with walking on hikes, can be used to point out things in the distance, can be a makeshift flag staff, or a barrier if you need to block someone or something. Then if it breaks, it can still be used as kindling in a fire.

Both, clearly.
And, if you don't like it, you can try to take them back, but I warn you, I have a stick and a rock.

Okay but can you imbue the stick with rune energy? Didn't think so
agent_nycto@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 55d
You can carve runes into stick

The rock in this photo looks like the rune essence from runescape, which you can take to altars to turn into runes

That rock is amazing but I can't turn down a stick that has you charging the English lines in the Scottish highlands like that claymore

Nah I'm still taking the rune essence

Team rock, sticks are awkward to keep around long-term but rocks can sit on my desk indefinitely

The stick is clearly superior, but an S-tier stick is also more common.

I take the stick and use it to rob the guy with the rock.
DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social · 1 pts · 45d
You can't, I threw the rock at your head when you tried and now I have the stick and the moral justification for theft of it.
