Really. I have other things planned instead of watching any more.

I foolishly was excited for doctor strange. The first one was not exactly bad but did not live up to expectations. Second was a total nosedive.

I know people love Sam Raimi, but his track record is spotty. Evil Dead was not meant to be a comedy, but they pivoted the movies that way because of audience reception. People loved the first two spiderman films, but the third was hated and they cancelled the fourth. Why give him the reins of another superhero movie?

ParlimentOfDoom@piefed.zip · 6 pts · 23d

The third was so heavily meddled with by the studio, who kept shoving more characters into it that the story couldn't support.

WhiteOakBayou@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 23d

Because The Quick and the Dead is such a fantastic movie. He gets all the tries he needs.

NigelFrobisher@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 23d (1 reply)

Sam Raimi can do whatever he wants.

roofuskit@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 23d

I think that's part of the problem.

Angryhumanoid@fedinsfw.app · 16 pts · 23d (3 replies)

While I have no doubt they have a spreadsheet with a list of movies I'm fairly confident the Marvel train will not be traveling that long. Having said that if they're still making them in 2042 I'll probably still be watching them /shrug

HubertManne@piefed.social · 7 pts · 23d

its disney. they will still be making them. there was all sorts of cable disney crap most people have never seen. they excel at mediocre.

SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.world · 3 pts · 23d

They'll probably pump them out in a couple minutes with AI doing it all in a couple years anyways.

It'll only be 99% the cost of human made ones too so everyone's happy.

Squizzy@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 22d

I put them on when I am double jobbing, doing something on the laptop or phone. They are chewing gum for the eyes is all

IWW4@lemmy.zip · 11 pts · 23d

They have been making marvel movies for about 80 years. Of course they will be making them for the next twenty.

I can’t wait to skip them.

mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca · 11 pts · 23d (1 reply)

don't care. I'm Marvel'd out.

ThunderComplex@lemmy.today · 2 pts · 21d

We all are. I kinda don’t blame them tho. Infinity War was such a fantastic ending to the saga, but this is capitalism, when your movies make infinite money, you can’t just walk away.

Hazmatastic@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 23d (2 replies)

Ffs I checked out of the marvel flicks around infinity war and they're planning that many more? Just let them die.

I remember a post like 10 years ago where a guy said that he's so sick of these marvel movies. He enjoyed the first few but it's getting ridiculous. Back then i thought: he has to be kidding. While they are not high cinema or anything, they are brainless fun, and i for one will just continue to watch them. I think about that post quite a lot, because i don't even remember the last movie i saw. Maybe endgame, and i only watched that because i felt obligated, and refused to watch it in theatres. I could not care less for these movies and tv shows. It's something i never imagined would happen, because they are just movies of something e enjoyed since i was a kid. I am so sick of them and everything they created. Their shitty formula keeps creeping into other movies and it's just gross. Quips everywhere, every charecter needs a joke and a punchline. I really wanted to like the Dungeons and dragons movie, but that was also just a marvel movie in disguise. "He's right behind me, isn't he?" "I'm glad he's on our side." Blablabla

Hazmatastic@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 22d

I never made that comparison but you're spot on. I don't mind the dnd movie as much, because there are times when that makes it feel like an actual campaign with dumb, campy shit going on. But yeah, now that you say it, it's 100% a marvel movie in a trenchcoat.

Jesus tapdancing Christ. That cow has been milked and ran out a long time ago.

Stop fucking talking about it feigie, it just hurts interest. Let people be surprised

MimicJar@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 23d (1 reply)

He was asked a question and this is a build up to comic con.

Plus movies don't just suddenly appear in theaters. We know about them well ahead of time.

cheat700000007@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 23d

Specifying them ahead of time devalues and basically spoilers current movies

roofuskit@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 23d

Like Blade?

whotookkarl@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 2 pts · 22d

Save all the interesting stuff for never, remove or downplay the actual interesting parts of the comics that were political or asked challenging questions to make more room for pg13 violence, etc. I love the comics and bringing them to a wider audience but I don't think big budget movies can match my interest for comics after the initial novelty.

Definitely want to see a LA Miles Morales. Also want a Ghost Rider movie with Robbie.

Squizzy@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 22d

Robbie Keane, Irish Football Sensation?

FordBeeblebrox@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 23d

I’ve been burned out on MCU stuff but more spider verse stuff please
