How often do your knees knock?

Mostly directed at you skinny lemmys. As a luxuriously sized north American, it struck me as odd that I could not recall my knees knocking together since childhood. True, I have enjoyed powerlifting since highschool, but still. I can press my knees together just fine seated or reclining. How often does the average Lemmy feel their knees knock together?

Wait what?

Goes through the comment section to understand what we're even talking about

I gues never

I had to look up what that even is. So the answer, unsurprisingly, is never. It looks like it might happen if you have a serious muscular and connective tissue atrophy? So really shouldn’t be something that just happens sometimes

"Knock knees" is a predominantly childhood thing that most kids grow out of. It's not a less-than-luxury-size thing.

Adult peeps with knock knees who have never talked to a doctor about it, please look into PT. That shit can be potentially fixed or at least improved with good ol' physical therapy.

As a life-long recovering klutz, I sometimes knock my ankles together. But, never my knees.

I thought that was just a figure of speech?

Contrary to popular belief, it is not. I was a skinny boy who liked to climb and play sports. I can remember quite a few times me knees knocked together as I was growing up.

I assumed it was just something people tended to learn to avoid doing.

Never. I am constantly walking around sideways in a badminton smash-receiving stance. 🦀

I don't think mine ever do, but they do sublux on occasion

Huh?

Don't think this has anything to do with being skinny unless you had malnutrition. Looks like if you have it as a kid, it's normal enough and you tend to grow out of it. If it's severe or you don't grow out of it, it's due to malnutrition or other disease processes.

So I'd wager most people on Lemmy do not have this. I'm fairly thin and I have never had that.

This basically never happens ah
