RFK's CDC publicly claims "studies have not ruled out the possibility that infant vaccines cause autism"

https://www.cdc.gov/vaccine-safety/about/autism.html

The CDC is truly cooked if they're basing science around trying to prove a negative. That is research methods 101 level shit.

Studies have also not ruled out dragons living under the surface of the Earth.

Studies have not been able to prove that Jesus didn’t come back to earth as subsurface dragon, that is heating the ocean water around Australia, to destroy their coral reefs, to destroy tourism, to punish Australia for aggressive restrictions on firearms, because Jesus loves guns. Studies have also not been able to prove that Jesus doesn’t love guns.

But they have failed to show any correlation to even suggest causation.

Say it with me now: "You cannot prove a negative."

Studies have not ruled out the possibility that my penis cures depression.

Ghostalmedia@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 21d (3 replies)

What about the research about it causing depression?

Monument@piefed.world · 4 pts · 20d (2 replies)

Oh, yeah. Loads of evidence.

Sample size too small to be statistically significant…

I wish (sometimes). That thing is like a dowsing rod for trouble.

When the CDC said face masks wouldn’t help prevent the spread of COVID they were cooked.

Lots of good still there, but this shit is old.

reddig33@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 21d (1 reply)

That was a lousy thing to do. Likely done to keep face masks in stock for first responders, but still lousy.

homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 21d

Well exactly. And they could have just said that, but they went with a ridiculous lie instead.

CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 20d

It was rather interesting to see how learning that masks were more about protecting others impacted the behavior of your average Karen.

Autism is better than deadtism

daannii@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 20d (1 reply)

It's even arguably better than measles as measles can lead to permanent deafness and cognitive impairment.

Agreed.

Depends who

FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca · 9 pts · 21d

One fucking study said there was a link and it was proven fraudulent. Every fucking study since then debunked it. Still, scientists are forced to keep wasting time continuing to debunk it
