Fuck that, just play games that don't require a lot of power. Most of the better games made these days are indie games that can run on a potato anyhow and most of the graphically intensive games are shitty "AAA" titles that get released unfinished, run like garbage even on decent machines, and cost waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much.

Yeah I’m expecting a repeat of the video game crash of ‘83. I expect some of the behemoths of the industry to go belly up, but I expect smaller studios to survive, or even benefit from the bigger players dissolving.

And games have looked super good enough for like 10+ years. If the future of gaming on your own hardware is tiny arm based chips, we’ll be just fine. Even in the current hardware shortage, there are a ton of $200 handhelds that can play a ton of games.

I went and bought a DSi and 3DS and jailbroke them, and I've been very happy with them playing games like Hotel Dusk and Star Fox 64. I'll play vintage games on vintage hardware before I do cloud subscription gaming.

My DSi was easynto jailbreak too. Loaded up a bunch of nes and snes games on it.

The screen is so nice too. I've love how the pixels end up looking on the DSi screen.

"You don't own your games and you have to pay us when you want to play what we choose you can play. Thanks for buying into this bullshit idea suckers!"

At least the merchantilists knew the world was finite.

I’m sure that’s what they’re telling shareholders.

DebatableRaccoon@lemmy.ca · 6 pts · 33d (1 reply)

No doubt the same shareholders who've 'diversified' and have some stake in componentry being prohibitively expensive too.

wyldrstallyns@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 2 pts · 32d

So little doubt, I'd wager, that saying otherwise is asinine or marketing or both.

Kolanaki@pawb.social · 19 pts · 33d (1 reply)

I don't want to play games on your machine. I want to play games on my machine. That I own. In my house.

wyldrstallyns@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 2 pts · 32d

You have a house? Lucky fucker. 🤌🏼

BlueLagoon@lemmy.ca · 15 pts · 32d

I'd rather just find a new hobby instead of giving more money to these greedy fucks. That includes Google, Nvidia and the rest. Fuck right off with your constant want and need to make everything worse.

newthrowaway20@lemmy.world · 12 pts · 33d

Yeah no shit. All the big companies are itching to sell compute back to us rather than let anyone own anything.

apfelwoiSchoppen@lemmy.world · 11 pts · 34d

They are all saying they colluded together to make dividends for investors. I wish any system worked for us plebes anymore jfc.

Hello!

I bought a Luna controller by accident a while ago, figured I’d give it a shot since it was in hand. Returned it in no time, the experience was just bad.

wyldrstallyns@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 4 pts · 32d

Fuck off, Scamazon. Choke on a bag of dicks and become the fertilizer you're better as.

forkDestroyer@infosec.pub · 4 pts · 32d

Has he actually used Luna? It's laggy and buggy as all hell.
