The whole thing is so dumb, the feddiverse is still so small that arbitrary restricting content from users as well as preventing users and even admins from managing or even knowing about the blocklist is a sure way to get people to stop using your software.
You don't understand, clearly secret blacklists are the way to keep normies! It's not like creating your own blocklists is a core feature of the fediverse or anything
I too believe that any and all individuals who happen to hold the ideals commonly associated with the fascist movement should promptly have intercourse with every living member of the Cactaceae family forthwith.
Eh, it's a decent client. I've moved my self hosted instance from the upstream docker image to a build from source with the blocklist and other "Acceptable Use Policy" bullshit removed. Life uh, forks a way.
But yeah, if you're using an instance with the upstream image you are unknowingly missing out on a whole part of Lemmy beyond what your instance admins have decided
Yuhuu I'm there! Do you think they manually selected us or was it a bot? It'd require some effort to manually check that each of these accounts goes against their opinion...
