No, American Nazis are not just degenerates and rapists. This movement is formed and supported by all kinds of people. What is happening is not because small part of American population is violent. It's happening because huge part of it is racist. What you're doing is pre-seeding the excuses that will come later. "Americans didn't do it, it was the Nazis".

They're not merely following orders but are also panicking easily and resorting prematurely to brutality and disproportionate lethal force.

The occupying Germans in Paris during WWII were notorious for exactly this, and it inspired La Résistance.

I like your optimism, but I would like to point out that most Nazis got away with it, even higher ranking ones. And that is only in part due to USA being pretty fascist themselves even after the war (see Jim Crow Laws, segregation etc.). How do you get rid of a mentality so widespread?
