My favourite part of that final fight is that this dude breaks a guys neck for no reason after comprehensively beating him, gets booed, and is then shocked that he's getting booed.
My second favorite thing about the movie is that it's actually shot in Kowloon walled city.

Very disappointed they never brought that up during How Did This Get Made. He killed someone during competition before so he should've known, first hand, that's not an occasion for people to cheer. Pretty sure he's on the spectrum.

I guarantee you Stevens will be better than the incumbent, even if we wish for better still. Even liberal Democrats increase the sway of progressives compared to Republicans.
Still, I'm voting for Abdul in the primary.

Don't worry mate. She's gonna lose. I'd guess Abdul gets 55-60% of the vote in the primary. It's not even gonna be close.
Save your "lesser evil" stuff for now mate. We don't even need to have that conversation yet. And, honestly, if people are saying shit like "I won't vote for stevens" that's literally just more reason for people to vote for Abdul. Let that shit slide until it matters. The voters are pissed at these Dems. Let them be pissed. Ride the momentum. No need to reflexively pre defend a Zionist dem over a Zionist Republican. We won't have to make that choice.
I know we are so use to having to do that. But, it's a primary, this is literally the stage were we are making sure the candidate isn't just a "lesser evil".

The only thing better than seeing Progressives win, is seeing the panicking Corpo-Establishment Dems heavily support someone else, and then LOSE!
How much more evidence do they need before they understand that they are hated almost as much as MAGAs? We took back the government in 2020, and the Dems did absolutely NOTHING to keep MAGA from STEALING it back. NOTHING - even though they openly talked and bragged about stealing it. The MAGA comedy act of Schmuck & Jeffries just instantly declared the election "fair & square," and then disparaged anyone who dared to contradict them.
The arrogant Corpo-Establishment Dems are as much a part of the problem as MAGA. They both need to be crushed and purged.

It wasn't a blow out, but I'm so glad he won. I'd much rather argue with liberals that progressives need to be supported to fend off MAGA than vice verse. I'll vote for the lesser evil without blinking when I have no better choice, but it feels good to vote for someone I really believe in.

Yeah, Detroits votes were definitely surprisingly low for him. But, that actually means he has a lot of support outside of Detroit because he still won. Which is good for the general election. Detroit isn't gonna vote for a Republican anyway. But he still needs to make sure he addresses it and has good turnout from Detroit in the general.
I think it was a combination of conservatives voting for Stevens in the open primary (there was none for Republicans) and also the older voters of Detroit picking the establishment endorsed candidate. Basically, his disadvantage in the primary should flip to an advantage in the general when he's the only one with a D next to his name on the ballot.

Sorry, my mistake. I know they are running against Mike Rogers and I just assumed he was running as incumbent, but it looks like he's been fucking off for the last decade and failed his comeback against Slotkin last election.

That's your right, but I hope you understand why that's completely irrational and nihilistic. That scenario involves likely civil war and thousands, tens of thousands, or millions of innocent deaths, at a level none of us can fully imagine.
I'm writing this now because I've seen way too many of these litmus purity test debates in 2024. If you care about people, vote in the way that helps them the most, even if imperfect. It should be that simple.

I wish there was a way of explaining this to liberals without them getting lost in a "technically better than" conversation that goes nowhere.
It's why you have downvotes when we're talking about a candidate that is almost entirely funded by Israel SuperPAC groups.
Can you liberals save your "lesser evil" arguments for when it might actually matter. This election is red Israel or blue Israel vs. Abdul and the people. Let us shit on the Dems sometimes. We're getting you better candidates and we have momentum. We deserve some "fuck the establishment Dems" for all our phone banking and door knocking.
Don't wait until we've got half the House Democrats under DSA. Come join us now. Then you can be a smug "technically" Andy on our side. We could use it sometimes. I promise it feels even better to rub wins in conservatives faces when your candidate actually has real policies. Don't go down with a sinking ship.
