First-in-nation law sets up test on states’ power to regulate use of AI as it tries to outlaw fake nude images of real people
Elon Musk’s company xAI has sued Minnesota over the state’s first-in-the-nation law banning “nudification” technology on websites and apps, potentially providing a test for how far states can go in constitutionally regulating the use of artificial intelligence.
Musk’s company sued on Monday in federal court, days before the law is set to take effect on Saturday and make Minnesota the first state to try to outlaw the increasingly proliferating technology that lets people use AI to create fake nude images of real people. The law was signed in May.

Whatever happened to the legal issues this pasty slug was facing in Europe over Grook being used to do "nudification" for children?

So far nothing besides opening of proceedings, which happened in January. It's here at the bottom.
Seems like they usually need almost a year to get further.

The light reflection alone there should be enough to blind you. Moths probably fly at that man at night.

I knew a girl in high school who was half Irish half Scottish. She looked pretty similarly pasty to musk.

You take that that back. Please never compare the radiant pale skin of women with beautiful accents and strong odds of a drinking problem to the likes of Elon Musk.

I don't understand why he insists on making this a thing. I mean, i can see why he would get involved--he's a repugnant incel-pilled dork who has to offer compensation in exchange for sex because literally nobody wants to do it with him. This is how he gets his revenge on women for not acquiescing to his disgusting advances.
But looking beyond all that, i still want to understand why he believes it's so important that it exists--that he's willing to fight lawsuits over it. I don't know if this properly explains it, but i think it's important to see what they're saying about it.
It sounds like this thing isn't going to be allowed nearly anywhere if it's as restricted as they claim it is. Which leads me of course to the fact that this asshole will do whatever he wants regardless of the law and anyone that wants to challenge him can try to get their day in court. Bonus points for their self-policing solution, lol. I'm sure Grok'll be turning pedos in left and right 🥴

He'll just introduce them to whoever has taken over Epstein's Concierge Service.
fonix232@fedia.io · 2 pts · 33d
It's quite simple - by allowing this type of genAI to take hold and have no guardrails, any and all future allegations against the Epstein class can be dismissed with a "fake news, that's AI" claim.
And since AI is getting better and better at generating images while getting worse and worse at recognising AI generated content...
frunch@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 33d
That's a good point. I've read that AI medical assistants will function in a way that will effectively make them work as an accountability shield. The AI would be calling the shots and the doctors will be the 'guardrails' and when mistakes are made it won't be the AI to blame, but the doctor who failed to catch it's error.

Elon Musk? You mean the guy who murdered all those children with a chainsaw? The guy who invented replicator technology, but only for CSAM? That guy?
SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca · 5 pts · 33d
No, this is the guy that cremates his car buyers with doors that can't open.

All of them or just...? You know.
Abyssian@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 33d
Give him time, man. He's bound to have a ton of money invested in creating a way to physically replicate the actual children. It's an area of research a lot of rich and powerful people are highly interested in, especially now that they've pretty much perfected boner pills.
The odds on Kalshi that a way to clone kids and quickly age them to whatever age (1-16) you set the dial to will be publicly available at least a year before boring shit like a cure for cancer or Malaria are 7146:1 right now.
I put $30 on cancer coming first just because I'm sure some idiot somewhere is still working on that, and maybe they'll get lucky. At the moment that's my most fleshed out retirement plan.
Abyssian@lemmy.world · 14 pts · 33d
Using AI to undress images of children you filmed in public with your pervert glasses is a first amendment right! They can't make that illegal! I hate big government meddling in everything that's none of their business!
The government exists to protect the wealthy, ruin the economy for everyone else, execute brown people and lefty commies in the the street, control women's bodies and force them to do what men say and bear our spawn whenever we want, keep gays from being able to marry, and make sure the lives of all those rainbow freaks are pure hell every day. And that's all!
They have ZERO business interfering with the natural, normal, beautiful acts of grown men having sex with children or using technology to undress them without their consent or knowledge!

"xAI" is a more professional sounding name than "grok" but he can't even be original. He has to steal Apple's "Lower case i" and change it to an "x". All I see is "TwitterAI".
BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today · 2 pts · 33d
We went through the e- stage, and the i- stage, now it's time for the x- stage. We're running out of edgy letters, i- wasn't even a good one. Still got z-.

Seems weird that fElon, who has killed more people than the Chinese Nationalists but not quite as many as Hitler (yet), gets to have his cake and eat it too with his web of companies. Somehow SpaceX, the parent company, is not mentioned at all here. Almost like they want to put some distance between this action and the tumbling stock. It's "of course we all work together" or "we don't even know those guys" depending on what benefits the moment.
