Would you live on the moon for 6 months if we built a colony there?

Depends on a lot of factors but if it was reasonably safe it would probably be difficult for me to resist. I’ve been fascinated by space since I was like five.

If the colony belongs to some billionaire I’d pass though 😬

hell yeah id stay forever if there were enough queer people. gayify the moon.

There would have to be a big open garden in the centre of the colony with the roof being super thick glass so the moons "sky" can be seen (if that doesnt work, a projection of it on the roof. If there is that, I am all in.

By “we” do you mean humans, or women? As long as the muscle wasting/bone density thing is addressed I’d say yes to one of these

oh god it’d be a lot harder to fake gravity with a surface base, you’d probably have to jet up to a spinny station in orbit just to jog.

Faking gravity is probably way harder on a terrestrial station, but amplifying the effects of existing gravity becomes an option. A 50kg person with 250kg of training weights would have about the same amount of force on their feet on the moon as they would without the weights on earth. Sure, momentum would act differently, but you could always tweak the amount. Probably easier than extra rocket launches, at least.

oh duh, that makes loads of sense!

I think I'd miss plants and animals and weather too much.

Just like Sam Rockwells character in Moon!

Does the first colony on the moon lay claim to the whole moon, or only an area the colony can defend?

But then what is worth defending, value wise? Strategic location? Mineral or molecule? Low gravity research and development?

if no fashs - yeah!!!!!!!

YES

No further questions.

Space is terrifying to me, so I would have to pass
