I block nsfw instances, but if something comes through, it's usually blurred because that's how I like my Lemmy experience. Perhaps the upvotes can show what would be best in this case.
Wait till you find the breast pump training videos that give them a loophole to show boobs for a min. Or the women who do mundane things for the entire channel while wearing skin tight outfits just so you check their profile to find a link tree link that has their OF in it.
I mean I do think we need to be less puritanical as a society, sexuality is a normal part of the human experience and shouldn't be viewed as harshly as violence.
I know the main thing is that YouTube is being hypocritical here.
I don't know what youtube ads are like anymore. I ran away long ago when youtube went from putting ads in the front of videos and letting you skip after a few seconds to putting them in throughout the video.
I ran to newpipe when using it on my phone and never looked back. Also started the domino effect of making it easier to cut off usage of google account related services.
On my TV I use a minipc and use firefox with ublock origin.
And on iOS I think brave blocks youtube ads, and ublock is available for Safari now. I never bothered to install the youtube app on iOS.
Last night, on YouTube, and not rented or paid for, I watched Naked Fear, which is an exploitation film full of nudity. Pretty much a porn film, although actually quite good as a story, too.
Exploitation, sure, but was there actually any porn going on? IIRC, the only thing coming somewhat close was a woman running around stark naked for several minutes.
No you're right, it's mostly just naked women, but I mean, her being hunted naked and terrified like an animal, by a psycho through the woods, is pretty fetishy, it doesn't shy away from it, and she is ridiculously...not ugly.
What's the hip new YouTube? All the suggestions people usually come out with suck for one reason or another (lack of content, UI sucks etc). I hate YouTube so much but it's YouTube it has everything. Ugh.
Also the hypocrisy runs even deeper. See, if you get demonitized, they don't stop putting ads on your videos; they simply don't pay YOU for them. Which is stupid if the whole reason is because advertizers don't want to be associated with a thing and you're still associating them with said thing by leaving them running on content deemed inappropriate for advertisers.
I guess that title could maybe be construed as fine if only strangely implicative for the platform, but that sentence under it? “Women who always say yes”? Yikes. Not sure how that can be anything other than plain disgusting.

If you post this because you think the ad is inappropriate maybe flag the post as nsfw? Just saying.
vantablack@lemmy.blahaj.zone · -1 pts · 11d

I call bs. There is porn on lemmy, but it's not in YOUR feed, unless you subscribe to that source.
If you're scrolling "all", I get it. But also that's not your feed. Thats a feed of everything on lemmy.

I'm pretty sure that on top of that it's either opt in or out, but extremely upfront on whatever medium you're working with
Source: opted in bc I'm a slut

Also a lot of instances block those porn instances so you won't see them even in your "all".

Why the fuck do you still get ads on youtube???
Firefox + ublock origin. Takes 10 minutes to setup and I haven't seen a single ad in years.
sunsofold@lemmy.zip · 5 pts · 14d
And revanced on android.
87Six@lemmy.zip · 5 pts · 13d
I guess? But even on android you can put firefox and ublock origin. That's what I have.
Tattorack@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 13d

I didn't know there were videos in the scroll part of the app. I thought it was all in the videos.
I mean I'm not super surprised, but I've never even heard it mentioned.

It’s a dating app with a lady in a negligee. Hardly offensive. Also, YouTube doesn’t give a shit if you swear if it's not in the first minute or two.
I’m not defending YouTube. It sucks. But this is tame.
