Don’t pretend to be a metal fan if you don’t know who these two are.

Johnathan Davis and Lajon Witherspoon?

It's been a while since I've seen a Sevendust show i guess?

It was a WIG!? smh. I was deceived!

iamthetot@piefed.ca · 10 pts · 14d (4 replies)

It genuinely never occurred to me even a single time that it was a wig. I guess kudos to the team!

It originally wasn't a wig in his first several episodes. But when Momoa wanted to cut his hair for personal reasons, the producers did not want him to because the hair was such a staple part of the character. So they had his hair cut and professionally made into a wig so he could keep having that same hairstyle.

I recall reading he only used his own hair as a wig for an episode or two and then replaced it with an actual wig

SatyrSack@quokk.au · 3 pts · 14d

That sounds believable. Creating a wig out of the actual hair that you are looking to mimic seems like an idea that might sound smart on paper. But there are probably actually a bunch of logistical downsides to that so it's actually better to just make a 100% synthetic wig.

When I saw momoa on something else without the hair (now WIG!?!), I was thinking, “I guess he had to cut it to extend his range.”

Ronon and Teyla both wore silly wigs for most of Atlantis

atomicbocks@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 14d

I believe it was real in the first season he appeared, and then his hair was turned into that wig.

Looks like odd casting for a Red Dwarf reboot.

Smeg off!

Kowowow@lemmy.ca · 3 pts · 14d

Would be funny to see slight mods that people did to thier doctors to make the crew feel more comfortable, on this ship theirs looks half clingon

Kolanaki@pawb.social · 2 pts · 14d (2 replies)

Picardo made an appearance in at least one episode, did he not? It's been a while simce I binged stargate, I can't remember; but he's in damn near every sci-fi TV show so it's probably a good bet.

Edit: I need to turn the brightness up on my phone and get some caffeine in me; motherfucker is the one wearing the wig 🤣

He was a guest actor in several episodes of Stargate SG-1, then he was a lead character for an entire season of Stargate Atlantis

He was an auditor for the IOA, and was a recurring character in S3,S4 of SGA. In S5 he became a series regular.
