A movie that should be enjoyed via stills.

because otherwise you would question your life choices and cry

Nah I love trash. That film has a special place in my heart

everything about it looks good on paper, every casting choice is on point, the soundtrack goes hard and then the movie starts and whatever the fuck went off the rails it took the whole movie with it.

Indeed. I think I might just have a niche interest in that particular kind of trainwreck. Rock and Rule is similar too, has all this crazy high concept production going on but ends up going completely off the rails during the execution

Rock and Rule is nowhere near as underwhelming - it's a giant mess that is all over the place but it never occurs to you that you're watching a fucking piece of shit of a movie. Cool World makes you think "what is this shit?" and insists upon thinking about it with a purposeful grimace and a terrible sound

Fair. The creators didn't feel that way about it though. They all kind of agreed it was a trainwreck because the writing wasn't completely began by the time they started animating and it consisted of multiple teams doing different segments with little communication

classic case of mismanagement. the soundtrack goes hard as fuck though

Good trash entertainment is amazing. Sometimes you just want to watch brain rot that's done well.

I love that the main motivation for the villain is that she's just super fucking horny.

RickyRigatoni@piefed.zip · 4 pts · 36d

Relatable.

BilSabab@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 35d

that's actually pretty mild by Bakshi standards

I’m not bad. I’m just drawn that way.

RipLemmDotEE@lemmy.today · 6 pts · 36d (2 replies)

That line is from Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

thenextguy@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 36d

You seem to be correct.

hakunawazo@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 36d

Who framed Roger Rabbit?
Well, finally a question I could answer:
It was Commander Kruge!

BilSabab@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 36d (1 reply)

wrong movie.

I can still see Holly saying it, regardless.
