Ooooh....a sales promotion...laaa deee fucking daaaa

Fuckers should be adding up every sales receipt purchased during the time when the tariffs were in effect, dividing their settlement by that amound and sending rebate checks to the people who already purchased.

Anything less is a slap in the face.

Unless you purchased from Arctic directly, they shouldn't even have that information.

The resellers are Arctic consumers too.

If Arctic sells 500 coolers to "ABComputers LTD" in butt-fuck Alabama and charges them the tariff, than ABComputers LTD should get a portion of that rebate and they can add up their share against how many of those 500 they sold and pass it down to their buyers.

Yeah, but you know ABComputers won't actually pass it along. And the admin fees for dealing with it probably eclipse the amount to be rebated.

Neither is Arctic

Yeah, it's better than using the refunds to buy another Mercedes for the executives mistresses, but no one is buying a second CPU cooler with component prices so high.

So the reward here is being allowed to spend more money on their products?

jpreston2005@lemmy.world · 16 pts · 8d

I mean they raised prices during the illegal tariffs, so now they're lowering the costs back down to where they were before the tariffs and calling it a special promotion?

I mean, gotta hand it to them, most companies are just keeping the tariff-inflated prices, but still...

every recovered dollar is returned to the market through across-the-board retail price cuts

so, iow, it will be up to the merchants to pass that along to customers... history says that ain't gonna happen.

Nice move. Only thing I really buy from arctic is legendary MX-4, but I appreciate the gesture.

It's better than nothing, but really the people who bought their products are still out the money. I have a feeling we will see a number of companies claiming to do this, as their sales are down and having an "excuse" that cost them nothing to bring prices down a bit and get consumer loyalty doesn't hurt.

Huh… I have used Arctic Silver 5 for decades and somehow completely missed the existence of the MX line.
