I really couldn't care less. The moon is a very big, very dead rock. Space Exploration > Moon Litter, Earth Litter > Moon Litter

I don't want private companies allowed to throw their fucking trash literally everywhere

I mean, too late?

First offence! I vote complete dissolution of all private space companies. Because Fuck Them

The moon has been undisturbed for 4 bullion years or so (not counting the eventual natural rock impacts) but yeah, let's dump more garbage over there because we're lazy because that worked so well on our own planet

I don't think school buses are typically radioactive.
MouldyCat@feddit.uk · 1 pts · 26d
I think this really depends on how many bananas are in the bus

Was this on purpose? Or did spacex just fuck up that bad?
DempstersBox@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 24d
Private companies have zero give a fuck about anything other than money, so really it could be either! Did they calculate that littering on the moon was acceptable, or were they so fucking incompetent they can't keep track of their shit? The free market doesn't know either
frostysauce@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 26d
Wait, I'm confused. Space X didn't know it crashed into the moon but non-Space X people did?
DempstersBox@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 24d
Private companies have a reeeally hard time distinguishing between their ass and a hole in the ground, so it's anybody's guess.
No private entity should have any access to space at all, and shit like this is only an inkling of why

Hard agree.
