"No CUSMA, no boozema". I like his style.

How many McD burgers can he get away with at that age?
Adderbox76@lemmy.ca · 29 pts · 28d
As a Canadian, get me within sniper range and I'll show him how nasty I can be.
Canconda@lemmy.ca · 8 pts · 28d
Think you can beat 3450m?
Adderbox76@lemmy.ca · 12 pts · 28d
Probably not. But on the upside, because that's in Metric and not Freedom Units, the bodyguards won't know where to look for me. They're search radius will be off.

This is my favorite comment I've read in a while lmao
ohshit604@lemmy.halstead.host · -6 pts · 28d
As a Canadian, it would be nice to be able to target shoot with larger calibers rifles. Can’t even rent a .50 BMG at the shooting range anymore because of our current government.
All in the name of public safety, eh.
Adderbox76@lemmy.ca · 3 pts · 28d
True. I'm far far far from a gun nut. But recent world events have me thinking I should renew my license.
ohshit604@lemmy.halstead.host · 1 pts · 28d
Always recommend folks getting their PAL, It’s a fun, but expensive hobby.
Tiger666@lemmy.ca · 1 pts · 27d
This I can agree with but not the anti-material weapon.
Tiger666@lemmy.ca · 1 pts · 27d
You dont need an anti-material weapon. GET OVER IT.
ohshit604@lemmy.halstead.host · 4 pts · 27d
Excuse me? I want to use my .22Lr Kriss Vector that I purchased and got to use once before they bloody banned it. Why are you frustrated?
Also In my original comment i said rent, not purchase, have you ever been to a shooting range?
Tiger666@lemmy.ca · 3 pts · 27d
Why are you wanting to use an anti-material rifle at a range for?
Do you enjoy the pain of the recoil?
Feigned indignation to what a nation deems not necessary for living in polite society is a pathetic excuse for advocating for the civilian use of military weaponry even if you are renting it.
I agree with you they went too far but saying you want a .50BMG rifle in a civilian role is just insane in my view.
ohshit604@lemmy.halstead.host · 3 pts · 27d
The answer is simple and you’re going to hate it, it’s a resounding Yes. It’s fun and it’s in a safe environment, what’s there to complain about? We have range officers to monitor people who don’t know what they’re doing for this exact reason.
PAL holders are statistically less likely to commit violent acts compared to every other Canadian, lets not forget that militarized / paramilitary firearms have been prohibited for personal ownership since the 70’s, our government put the blame of the 2020 mass shooting in Nova Scotia on licensed firearms owners with these OIC’s and Bill C21 when the perpetrator was unlicensed, in possession of a firearm illegally and went around town killing people dressed as a officer.
For at least 40+ years .50 BMG rifles were in the governments eyes not specifically militarized firearms, all up until 2020 when they put that 10k joules limit and called them “assault style firearms”, our crime rates involving these types of rifles must’ve been extremely high otherwise why bother implementing the law? Right?
Edit; And when our own Public Safety Minister was caught on leaked audio disagreeing with how they handled the situation all for votes in Quebec this should have all been dropped.

Carney's teleprompter failed at a Canadian speech and he chuckled and said something like "Unlike other world leaders, if the teleprompter breaks, I do not think it is a conspiracy". Then came the "nasty" comments at LV. Ooohh...trump be fuming because he hasn't the ability, or intelligence, to come up with a response. Best he can do is schoolyard name calling.

Pedophile says what?
phoenixz@lemmy.ca · 17 pts · 28d
So you love nasty people, is what you're saying. We already knew that
OldCrow@lemmy.ca · 2 pts · 26d
Actually, we’re not nasty. We just aren’t going to back down to a pedophile. And I don’t care what deal is reached, I’m still going to avoid anything American.
nyan@lemmy.cafe · 15 pts · 28d
Trump is very good at projection.
kent_eh@lemmy.ca · 3 pts · 27d
Just because he has a lot of practice doesn't mean he is good at it.
enphurgen@lemmy.world · 11 pts · 28d
Being called nasty by a pedophile felon is something to be proud of
kent_eh@lemmy.ca · 6 pts · 27d
Reminds me of a quote:
"Your boos mean nothing, I've seen what you cheer for"
CanadaPlus@lemmy.sdf.org · 6 pts · 28d
So, that means Carney finally put the big threat to him, and he's flailing.
ieGod@lemmy.zip · 6 pts · 27d
The big threat was simply a jest referencing Trump. Hit the big toddler's ego and he throws a tantrum. It's really that easy.
Rentlar@lemmy.ca · 6 pts · 27d
Trump is taxing Americans on products coming from Canada. And he's calling Canada the nasty one?
resipsaloquitur@lemmy.cafe · 5 pts · 28d
Donald is an expert.
Witchfire@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 26d
I mean, I agree for different reasons. Carney is a useless center-right neolib who only seems to care about oil, Doug Ford is the equivalent of a mob boss who only cares about self enrichment, Danielle gets turned on by JK Rowling's speeches, and Tiny PP wishes he could be Trump
Reannlegge@lemmy.ca · -3 pts · 28d
Something I can agree on with Trump!
garbagebagel@lemmy.world · -3 pts · 28d
The people down voting you not seeing all the absolutely terrifying shit that Carney is doing to the environment, wildlife, indigenous folks and refugees 🥲
Is he a child rapist? No (hopefully not). Is he anywhere near as horrible a human being as Trump? No (probably not). Is he being a shitty fucking PM? Yes, and it's okay to criticize him for that.
Reannlegge@lemmy.ca · 3 pts · 26d
I just wish we had a real liberal leading the liberal party, but what I would like more is the NDP to be in power.
