Do you think left handed people are only complaining about the handle shapes?
It is physically impossible to make “hand-neutral” scissors. One blade will always come before the other, obscuring your view of the cutting line from one side. That’s the problem.
It’s not the view obscuring that’s really the problem, though it is a side effect. It’s the pressure exerted while squeezing that only works for the correct hand in scissors.
If you can figure out how to contort your fingers to squeeze the blades together enough, you can use the wrong scissors, but I just learned how to cut righty because I could never find good lefty scissors as a kid. Same reason I used the mouse righty.
By the way: The view of the line is going to be obscured cutting curves in the direction of the cutting hand no matter the side.
I also learned how to cut with right handed scissors in my left hand, just have to squeeze the blades differently. I would end up with pain in my fingers doing that until I recently purchased a pair of proper lefty scissors. Now I can cut things pain free. Total game changer!
My left handed partner is like you, he just learned to cut righty. He won’t use my lefty scissors lol
My wife got me some lefty hair scissors for cutting my son’s hair. Took a few tries but I started to get the hang of it right before he got old enough to not like me cutting his hair.
You're not wrong, and the ways around it are awkward, but they exist. Personally, I'll often flip the point towards the wrist of the hand holding it and cut from the opposite side of my body, but I'm basically ambi-dextrous anyways.
My eldest is a lefty and her brother writes left-handed, having learned by watching her. He does everything else righty instinctively, but if asked he thinks he is lefty.
Alright fine guess I’m going to try being fully left handed today.
Funnily enough, it looks like I’m making less mistakes typing this out on my phone with my left hand than I typically do with my right. I wonder if it’s because I’m typing slightly slower, or if the way I hold my phone in my left gives me a better angle for typing.

Many use the right hand, but we use the proper hand

Too bad it’s not the proper hand for scissors :(

You know you can get left handed scissors, right? Also hand neutral ones.

Hand neutral scissors are just right-handed scissors.

lol sounds about right for a kid!
It took me a while to retrain myself into using the scissors correctly, but now that’s all I use

It's all I've ever complained about. Never noticed the blade thing, but I understand what you mean.
