Yes, embrace the penguin. Be the next hand that touches the beacon!

You'd be surprised how many installs of OneDrive and Google Drive there are on Linux.

It's free object storage after all.

I don't trust them to not sniff in user files. Maybe gpg encrypted format.

I had OneDrive disabled in gpedit when I Immediately debloated everything as soon as I installed Windows, is Microsoft moving people's personal files to One Drive without people's permission or something?

God, I'm so glad I only ever boot into Windows when absolutely necessary.

They've been doing it for years

They have and they train models on it. Google trains models on your gdrive and I'd be willing to bet Gemini sips anything on your phone.

According to Wikipedia:

Data stored on OneDrive is subject to monitoring through technologies like PhotoDNA.[81] Any content that is in violation of Microsoft's Code of Conduct is subject to removal

Anything on the C drive is fair game for onedrive. It's corporate sanctioned malware.

I spent the last 6 months on Cachyos.

I then decided I should probably update the Windows partition from time to time.

It tried to install the cumulative update, failed at 98%, then reverted all the update install to then reboot.

So now Windows doesn't even update properly.

Next step is eradicating the windows partition.

Onedrive hides your file forever.
