The games will vary in obscurity, but I promise each would have had a North American release.

Can you guess the game ?

Weirdly this reminds me of an Atlantis video game where they search for the book and map. Can't remember what it's called, and it feels like a fever dream, but I think it had a flying plane section like this.

Yeah! The lost empire. I had to look up what the flying thing is called

Now whether it’s search for the journal or trial by fire I have no clue lol, way too long ago

Correct !!

Oh shit, that was right? What a call!
Thank you for the core memory unlock.

That is definitely the vehicle in the image. Same logo on the wings, even.

Trial by Fire. I just looked it up and one of the first handful of screenshots looked almost exactly like this.
I've never played it and never would've thought of it, so the W goes to you IMO. All I was confident of was that the graphics and UI screamed "early 2000s PC game".

Fucking hell. There's a memory unlocked. Also can't remember the name, but yeah, that one.
ceenote@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 14d
Pretty sure that's it. I never owned it, but a friend had a demo for it.
ummthatguy@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 14d
It was a cereal box type demo! That's the only section you could play. Fuck if I know what the proper game was without looking it up.
snoons@lemmy.ca · 6 pts · 14d
I remember getting it in a cereal box (IMAGINE) as a surprise and that's what we played all summer lol.

I had this exact same thought. Like getting hit in the head by a truck of nostalgia.

Had this game as a kid but our old PC couldn’t run it right

Crimson Skies?
Cocodapuf@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 14d
That's what I think it looks like
Hexanimo@kbin.earth · 4 pts · 14d
This was my thought too, but the UI doesn't look right.
RickyRigatoni@piefed.zip · 11 pts · 14d
atlantis had some pretty good tie-in games. the ps1 game is goat.
RightHandOfIkaros@lemmy.world · 10 pts · 14d
This looks a lot like Crimson Skies. Looks too fantasy to be Sturmovik, Hawx, or Ace Combat. Looks too old for Warhawk or Birds of Steel.
There was an old Warhammer flying game I think I remember about orks, but I cant remember the name of it.
EDIT: Wait. This is a trap. This is a vehicle level in a different genre of game. Theres a little guy on there, like a bicycle pedal powers the prop on the vehicle. Also that UI is very simple.
Tar_alcaran@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 14d
This plane definitely isn't in Crimson Skies. Those all look way more WW2-style..

Commander Keen?
wilmo@programming.dev · 2 pts · 13d
There was never a 3D commander keen game. Nor did you ever pilot his ship in any of thrm.
