I still didn't understand so I looked it up. I wouldn't call it a curtsy, I would say it is a annoying kick that requires athleticism

It requires more technique than athleticism, but yeah. Sometimes you see it from players with a weak foot so bad they'd rather do something stupid like this with their strong foot than touch the ball with their weak foot, but mostly it's used to show off.

It was originally due to a head injury and concussion but now they keep wearing it for protection. All that diving a goalkeeper does, they take a lot of impacts to the head.

That's an extremely common medical device for athletes who are either recovering from a face injury or are often in situations where they can get elbows to the face. Basketball centers, soccer goal keepers, rugby players in general.

Back then Petr Cech (sorry If I misspelled him) wore a helmet after his head injury. After the full recovery he still wore it.
