President Trump has blamed the appearance of swathes of dead grass at the National Mall on “vandals.”
On Truth Social, Trump shared an aerial image of the grass at the National Mall which appeared to have large, dead patches in the same area that he held his July 4 celebration.
“Look what VANDALS did to the grass connecting the vandalized World War II Monument and the vandalized Reflecting Pool, which will be opened again, and better than ever, shortly,” Trump wrote on Sunday night. “Anybody who thinks the Reflecting Pool wasn’t vandalized should go back to Law School!”

Trump knows it wasn't vandals, his supporters know it wasn't vandals, and his supporters know that Trump knows it wasn't vandals. This is just a wink and a smile to communicate "look how pissed the liberals are getting."
And in all the back and forth, his supporters won't feel the need to care about all the taxpayer dollars the president is using to deface American symbols.

I have relatives who honestly think the reflecting pool was vandalized after hearing people on Newsmax and other far-right platforms parroting Trump. People like that believe anything Trump says at face value.

Fair. Either way, it does not matter that he's lying so brazenly.

Other than people getting prosecuted for shit they didn't do, I couldn't give the faintest fuck about the reflecting pool or the grass. Of all the terrible shit Trump has done, throwing away $20 million to deface a monument that will be repaired 5 minutes after he's out of office is so low on the list I can't even see it front the peak of Mount Treason. If you started naming every awful thing he's done, he'd be out of office by the time you got to it.

Yeah I'm pretty sure no one cares about the pool itself. It's just a shining example of the larger problem of corruption in The White House.

The Reflective pool looked fine until Trump vandalized it.

Same with the east wing of the White House.

So funny that he says they should go back to law school. He is obviously talking to a single person, but makes the comment to everybody. Like assessing damage to the pool has anything to do with a law degree.

It's not like he could blame massive crowds visiting that ghost town of an event.

Another article without mentioning who the true vandal was. This happened right after the non-compete contractor coated the pool. I think it was the day after and Trump decided to take his motorcade through it.

I would argue the Vandal is the guy who gave a no-bid contract to one of his cronies who, predictably, botched it horribly.
