Visited Holland today :)

Near Maastricht. Definitely my favourite spot all around.

Dozens of perches, pikes… and the scenery is lovely.

Truely a beautiful place

True I was technically in Limburg IIRC. But I’ve grew hearing the country being called equally « Pays-Bas » and « Hollande » so it stuck :-/

Still my comment about its magnificence stands.

I have often heard Dutch people call their country Holland, despite it officially being a region, not the whole country.

I tend to say I’m from Holland to foreigners as well. Though I am also from Holland in the narrow sense.

That’s a sick little boat

a4ng3l@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 11d (1 reply)

Thanks :)

This is a bellyboat more precisely. Unlike in a boat my legs are in the water and I’m sporting fins like divers to direct myself.

It’s more nimble than bassboats and fishing kayaks but it has more drag and smaller motorisation so I’m a fair bit more limited when debits are high. And it’s mono place.

It’s immensely more affordable though.

Over the years I thrifted 2 of those so I can bring friends or even curious fishermen that want to try this mode of fishing :)
