To me it's kinda the same energy as grocery stores with giant Buy Canadian banners but still stocking US products. My man, you're literally the one in charge of what products are available!

I don’t want to insult the lake and our First Nations people like that
Ontario comes from Huron meaning “Great Lake”, and it is a great lake. It’s also a fitting name for our beautiful lake filled province.
To change the name (over ego) would be an insult to our history, it would be pointless colonialism, and it would worsen our great country and province.

Canada should rename it first in honor of Trump: lake Inferior.

Is he tryting to rename it to "Lake America" because he drowned a kid in it? Maybe he did the same in the Gulf of Mexico? And now, when you take him to court, he can say, "Nuh-uh, that __ doesn't exist therefore I'm innocent?"

Here's the Canadian Government's "Complete list of U.S. products subject to counter tariffs"

Effective September 8, 2026

It's hard to navigate through that paginated list of items but I found wine, beer and spirits are being tariffed at 25%.
So one of the demands from the US was to stop the provincial alcohol boycotts and instead they end up with new tariffs for the few provinces not boycotting US alcohol (Alberta, Saskatchewan).
Even though US booze is still available for sale in Saskatchewan sales are down 40%. With the upcoming tariffs they are likely to decrease more:

For the record, as an Albertan our province may not have been protesting US alcohol, but I don't personally know anyone buying any.
