Funny, I'll be skipping GTA6 until it's the GOTY edition on sale for $10.

I'm more excited to see how Fable turns out than the new Grand Theft Auto

Fable is sick

The amount of shifting that has had to be done for GTA6 just makes me weep, especially with Rock Star shifting the GTA6 date back a few times. I understand those devs that make the decision, it just sucks for everyone not Rock Star.

Those Fable devs got a 4 month stay of execution from MicroSlop™ layoffs. This is great for them. Maybe bad for an executive's Christmas bonus, but let's be real, they're still getting one anyways.

Grind until your game comes out to then lay you off doesn't sound great either.

Wow, in 2026 I don't give a fuck about either game. Ten years ago I would have been salivating. All this corpo-hype shit sucks the joy out of the room.

The second game studio set to release a game in Q3-4 that's postponing due to GTA6. Pretty lame considering a whole audience is waiting on these games, so what if GTA takes the thunder right away? Oh, right... money. Not about passion anymore.

I mean... Yes, but you can't feed family with passion.

Kolanaki@pawb.social · 3 pts · 5d

I can feed them with passion fruit. 😌

It's not like they won't make enough to make that happen. They just want to make maximum as fast as possible.

twinnie@feddit.uk · 5 pts · 5d

Of course they do, half the time these studios have their entire future riding on their latest release.

Oh lookit that. Hades 3 coming out in February. (I would love it if that were true)

Looking forward to this game, it looks like a nice return to form for the series from all the preview content I have seen. It’ll be interesting to see how playground does with a non-racing game.

Fable: The Lost Chapters is the best game in the series.

Kowowow@lemmy.ca · 2 pts · 5d

Is there really that much of an overlap audience wise for this to make sense, I thought gta6 was supposed to flop anyways

cowardly and putrid. if you want your games played, release them. if not, don't.

tekdeb@lemmy.zip · 5 pts · 5d

It's a very common publishing strategy. Publishers often try to avoid other launches they expect will negatively impact their sales. GTA 6 will be quite expensive and probably very popular, so trying to avoid that makes a lot of sense.
