I finally named the truck.. Kermit...

It's green, it used to ribbit, but now it jumps!

It just needed a new ignition system, AKA the Kermit Spider...

What a nice little truck! You don't see many of these anymore. Such a shame, they're so much sturdier and generally respectful of the public than these giant pavement princesses you see rumbling around these days.

I miss practical, reliable little trucks like this. I wish Kermit many many more miles!

It ain't easy being teal

TIEPilot@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 3d (5 replies)

Agreed, 100% teal, I have a teal a bit deeper color Samurai it was the color in that era.

Back before every single fucking vehicle on the road was white, grey or black. But its cool, just makes it easier to find my truck in parking lots.

Dave@lemmy.nz · 2 pts · 3d (3 replies)

Weird. I see many different coloured vehicles, I wouldn't say the road around here was predominantly white, grey, and black.

The recent theme seems to be de-saturated, pastel colours. I don't like them but I wouldn't call them grey.

Ah, seems we might have gone through a phase but from your graph it looks like colours are returning.

The explosion of white is not a surprise, considering it's seen as one of the safest colours, but black and silver seem at similar levels at the end of that graph as the start.

But I will admit that is evidence for newer cars being predominantly greyscale. I think there are probably a lot of older cars where I am.

Yeah, the idea is that crazy colors don't sell well in the general public, so boring colors get a resale bump in price, which basically spirals on itself. More people buy the boring colors because of the resale bump, which makes more boring colors. But I love my bright colors. It makes my vehicle easier to find in a parking lot being bright orange.

Those are some nice wheels. If u put some white lettered or white wall tires on there they gonna pop.

Also obligatory fuck the auto industry for killing these perfect 4 or 6 cylinder 6 foot bed trucks. Absolutely fuck everyone of them. Miss my s10 so much

over_clox@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 3d (1 reply)

It's a very close cousin to the S10..

humble_boatsman@sh.itjust.works · 4 pts · 3d

Oh I know. I even had side boxes. We could be cousins.

Its funny when he jokes about something and people take him seriously, so he doubles down on it and they still don't get it.

Was the delay in naming due to fear of Kermit-ment?

xytaruka@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 2d

Came here to say they're kermit-ed now :p

DaforLynx@lemmy.zip · 3 pts · 2d (1 reply)

Better get some use out of it before it croaks!

over_clox@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 2d

It runs great! Even the radio works now...

Nah for real though, this is a half mystery of headaches, but mostly sorted out now. Runs pretty damn good for ~210K miles on it.
