EDIT: I'm not the original artist, @pmjv@lemmy.sdf.org is the artist. Here's a link to their Original Post and Here's a link to their profile on their home instance

I love that guy!

Being anti-slop and then not crediting the artist is funny

Gormadt@slrpnk.net · 16 pts · 12d (4 replies)

It is a crosspost, checking the other places it's crossposted to leads directly to the artist's post. And this image isn't cropped but how the OG artist shared it.

Though now that both of y'all are talking about I'm now not certain that other frontends show that this is in fact a crosspost or where it is cross posted from. So I'm gonna edit the post to include links to be certain that they get proper credit.

drkt@scribe.disroot.org · 8 pts · 12d (3 replies)

Hmm; I can't see the crosspost in either direction. I guess something broke, as I can usually see them.

Gormadt@slrpnk.net · 1 pts · 12d (2 replies)

Perhaps it's a federation issue or frontend issue? Or my favorite: a random difficult to recreate issue somewhere. I did go back and edit the body of the post so that credit is there though (I do recommend checking out more of the artists' work as it's pretty fire)

On Boost, you have to click the hamburger button to see crossposts, there is no other indicator I know of.

I'm sure it's not the only one.

Gormadt@slrpnk.net · 1 pts · 11d

That's good info to know, I'll make sure credit from any crossposts I do for sharing someone else's art gets into the body of the post in that case.

i’m a big fan of pmjv. their art/content brings me back to a time when the internet was still big and mysterious.

Gormadt@slrpnk.net · 12 pts · 12d

Big and mysterious but somehow small and cozy (if that makes sense, like the early internet days)

Careful who you associate with, comrade.

Found this site trying to search for the gang.

Wouldn't calling it out just help them improve how it's noticed? Kinda like how killing a spider leaves the gene pool overall stealthier.

Fredthefishlord@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 3 pts · 12d

Old reddit bots used to have a bot account group that'd gang up to yell at you if you called on out. It was funny

cadmiumsandbox@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 2 pts · 11d

im far more worried about actual artists being called out bc someone believes its slop bc of 'tells' than it getting better. but similarly i'm trying to just not call out, ask for source of the art and if i dont get it i dont interact, share, or save

I should get naughty and ignore all the instructions and kill the computer

Cat :3 kill computer

The only good slop is Funkadelic - Cosmic Slop.

Smorty@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 1 pts · 11d (1 reply)

like neverball! (try it, its on your package manager)

Gormadt@slrpnk.net · 1 pts · 11d

Huh, that looks like Monkey Ball. I'm gonna have to give that a shot later.
