I just realized it looks like I took the mug to work, I just used it as a carafe and poured it into a travel mug. I don’t like making coffee directly into a travel mug as I find it’s too hot to drink during my drive so I make it in something else first and then pour in, and then it’s a comfortable drinking temperature on the road.
Hario Switch. It’s just a glass V60 with a stopper on the bottom but it opens up a ton of options for different recipes. I included some more info on it in my pinned post “How to make good coffee”, I’d suggest giving it a read.

Sort of, I mean it’s capable of doing both those styles of brew but you can also do a mix too. So, say, 50g open switch, then close and do 100g for 45 seconds, then open, then 50g open, then 50g closed, etc. It’s fun to play with options. A large French press will still be easier for batch brews but if you only ever make coffee for one person, I’d say the Switch is significantly better than both V60 and FP.
You can make an immersion brew like a French press without having to clean a French press. Just dump the filter and grounds and give the Switch a quick rinse.
Hehe definetly not, thing is I'm drinking a liter of tea in the early morning, if I were to drink specialty teas or whatnot I could definetly see the appeal to ramp up the prep !
That’s my fear, losing one of my mugs. I’d hate to lose my espresso glasses I just recently got but I can always buy them again. Handmade stuff can’t be replaced.
Same! I havehad a pair of US Western mugs, and one shattered. I still have one, at least. Similar shape as yours here, same artist as the whale one I had lost (and the elephant one I had gifted).

The gray one is actually a subdued cyan, but my camera sucks at white balancing. It's an extremely comfortable handle, even though it seems small, and the mug shape makes drinking out of it smoother somehow. Not to mention the smaller bottom makes it easy to grasp it like I like, once it cools down some.
I was thinking the handle didn’t look too comfortable but it’s sometimes hard to tell in photos. Now that you mentioned it I can see how it can be cyan. That’s a really neat mug all around, thank you for sharing!

Why grind at home? Bring a hand grinder or portable electric like the Option-O Mini and an external battery and do the whole thing on the go.

This is the one that survived. The one that shattered had an antelope on it, but same color scheme.
I realized you can't really see the angle of the mug here, so here it is laying down.
This is one of my favorite mugs to use.
