Noise pollution, air pollution, water pollution, intellectual pollution, is there anything the slop machines don't pollute?

The past, for now…

Literally destroying old books.

atomicbocks@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 2d (2 replies)

Yes but not rewriting them yet.

ChickenLadyLovesLife@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 2d (1 reply)

Why bother rewriting books that nobody's going to read anyway?

atomicbocks@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 2d

That’s kind of my point…

Google has already moved on from recorded history.

They'll be fined a fraction of the profits and Microsoft will write it off as a business cost.

Jhex@lemmy.world · 13 pts · 3d

if they get fined at all... the current regime is actively defending fElon who is doing the exact same thing for it's child porn AI generator

What's the blast radius of an 1.5M gallon LNG tank?

yakko@feddit.uk · 6 pts · 3d (3 replies)

Go check that for us

A rail car is 33,690 gallons of LPG and minimum evacuation distance is 1 mile in every direction.

yakko@feddit.uk · 5 pts · 3d (1 reply)

Cool... Now go check that for us. :3

Indeed, why trust a plausible answer that could be AI generated? Direct experimentation is the only proof I'm willing to accept!

Time for openAI to buy 40% of worlds LNG supply. Got to do anything to keep up the hype!

There should be fines that scale exponentially for companies. So each time they get in trouble the fine will double so it becomes a problem fast, instead of a small fine they pay off once and a blue moon.

It should be the point where the fifth fine they achieve is enough to put them out of buisness.
