Detention does not equal raids. They’re intentionally shipping detainees to different regions to inconvenience anyone who would help, like lawyers, family, and to add mental anguish to detainees. Do you have data on how many clubs have been raided in New York City or other blue cities in blue states?

Oceja is the co-founder of Vecendarios 901. She said a few people were released by ICE 
at the scene after showing proof of legal status, but others with legal status were not 
given that opportunity.  

“They stopped reviewing those documents and they just started rounding everybody up 
and putting them on the buses, and so once they arrived to their destination like Mason 
or even Louisiana, and then those folks were able to produce those documents, then 
that’s when ICE started to release them,” Oceja said. “We ended up having to have some 
volunteers drive up to Mason to pick those families, or those people, up that were being 
released, without any form of communication.”

So even if you have your papers on you, ICE will kidnap you, drag you across state lines, and then dump you with no way to communicate and no way to get home.
