Cuz nothing says, "lower gas prices" than increased fuel consumption!

LibertyLizard@slrpnk.net · 9 pts · 9d

Won't affect prices for a few years. That way they can blame it on democrats later on.

so us manufacturers will increasingly make vehicles unsellable on the world market. gotcha.

Then they’ll block importing the actually decent (electric) vehicles, forever stuck with Tesla

ramble81@lemmy.zip · 9 pts · 9d

Yup. Said this in quite a few threads but you’re going to see a vastly different car landscape here from the rest of the world in 5-10 years. Prices will go up and quality here will go down as we turn into the dumping and cost recovery for manufacturers. You won’t see many more innovations in engine technology as they lock in and just build cheaper variants, while taking that money to compete on the world stage against China.

Not sure about that, his farm is fucked from the climate change he ignored for decades.

And to give credit where its due he's reversed his position on it quite drastically, isnt 100% but he has admitted he was wrong.

Hikermick@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 8d

Just a hunch but I'm thinking higher gas prices will create a demand for fuel efficient cars

The US might be a kakistocracy, or a idiocracy. Maybe a pedocracy. Probably a bad mix of the worst though.

late_pessimistic@slrpnk.net · 3 pts · 8d

They genuinely make policy based on whatever is going to "own the libs"

jumping_redditor@sh.itjust.works · 0 pts · 8d

That might (probably won't but I can be hopeful) lead to less SUVs because the manufacturer can reasonably hit the milage requirements of cars.
