I stay up late because AuDHD makes it difficult to switch activities.

I can't get up from bed without it taking 5 hours, nor I can go to sleep without it taking 5 hours.

Everything takes 5 hours

Who defines "common sense" and "moderation"? Meat eaters?

If vegans were majority, then you would be, too, called a radical for saying "we should build a slaughterhouse to give people PTSD"

I am not even vegan, but we can't trust meat eating majority to write the rules on what's acceptable amount of meat eating. This is just biased and unfair.

seizure of Venezuelan oil fields will simply lead to stranded investments in an increasingly irrelevant commodity.

That's true of basically everything Trump admin has done so far. Short-term marginal gains at the cost of setting up a ticking bomb for the next presidential admins. USAID slashing, R&D slashing, humanitarian Ukraine aid slashing, food stamps gone, etc.

It is indeed bad and inaccurate.

I bet they only chose it because it looked similar enough to Mercator, unlike Dymaxion or other options.

People really hate change, friction, and doing something in a new way, even as small as using a different map.

So they settled for Equal Earth map as a compromise, because it's a slight incremental improvement over Mercator, rather than a fully new thing.

IMO marking Crimea as neutral makes zero sense in what otherwise would be a great map suggestion, and it really pisses me off.

Either show the actual control status on the ground: which would mean 80% of Ukraine marked as Ukrainian, 20% of Ukraine as Russian.

Or show 100% of it all as Ukrainian, as it's agreed upon internationally.

Showing entire Ukraine as Ukrainian except for "neutral" Crimea doesn't match reality neither legally nor militarily.

Yeah, animals are fucked. We, humans, can simply turn on the AC in our houses, our cars, offices... Nevermind humans are already extemely good at thermoregulation.

But mammals with fur and whatnot? I genuinely wonder how Europeans and other Global North people plan to have dogs as pets, for instance, at +50 degrees Celsius.

Of course, house pets will still have it better than 99% of other animals on Earth, but that's probably the only animal a human cares for. That's if a human cares about anything at all except for themselves.

It's immoral to leech off other people's children tax money, sure.

But also no one wants to be a sucker doing 20+ years of unpaid labor raising kids, so someone else 's S&P 500 keeps growing and sustains a very comfortable retirement plan, and no one will even help you with raising kids anymore.

It's really the system's fault, not individuals. It makes it lucrative for every individual human to give as little back, and take as much from everyone else.

I think reason why ultrarich can be called dumb is their lack of introspection.

They don't waste time thinking "How does this affect other people?" or "Why do I want to be rich?" or else they wouldn't have spent decades relentlessly grinding in a rat race.

You also have to be very delusional and take massive gambles to get rich. It worked out for Gates or Musk, yes, but its a survivorship bias. Lots of other psychotic people have lost all by chasing the next big thing like AI-powered startups or NFTs.

Although I would surely not claim all ultrarich people are dumb, because I haven't seen any, nor have research to back this up.

He works out in jeans and won't show his legs (my guess is steroid marks in his legs)

You are right, he is on juice, I think he even admitted himself that he is on TRT, which isn't uncommon for wealthy men his age but yeah.

Still very ironic and inconsistent of him to promote "wellness farms" instead of SSRI's and Adderall, while being on TRT which has way more side effects.

I have been experimenting recently with turning airplane mode on when I am outdoors. Although I still use a notes app and an offline .mp3 player.

I can definitely recommend, it feels much calmer, slower, and my situational awareness improved too.
