I tried using my last bit of De Vergulde Hand soap. It went well twice after I melted it down, but today it got hard again and broke in many pieces again. Lathering was impossible. So I decided to crack open a new soap. Shibusa smells nice, but my nose isn't great and I won't try to describe it. The lather was ok. It lather up quickly but I think I could have loaded some more soap and maybe mixed in the water in smaller steps.

I'm also experimenting with shaving more often this week. Normally I shave twice a week. I go against the grain and really try to get real smooth. I think I do 80% of the damage trying to squeeze out the last 20% of results at the hardest spots (my chin and mustache area). So I'm trying not pushing it too much but shaving more often. So far so good.

Usually I wash my face with water every day. I have some acne that complicates shaving sometimes. I bought a cheap face wash cream to see if using that daily will clear up my skin a bit. So yea, lots of new things this week.

Back-to-back Ouds. This also isn't a one-note scent. The scent strength is lower than Colonial Oud but very pleasant. The Aftersauce definitely has an alcohol kick to it but seems to have more oil to it. TCB's base is nice and I find that I need to use more soap, less water with it.

Result was super slick for a close comfortable shave.

Top: Smoke, Cedarwood, Spice, Heart: Incense, Patchouli, Dark Woods, Base: Cambodian Oud, Indonesian Oud, Amber, Sandalwood, Musk, Vanilla

Have a good day.

  • Fragrance: Catie’s Bubbles - Crangère - EdP

This was a phenomenal shave.

I was on the fence about this soap. It smells kind of like yogurt to me off the tub, I think from the high level of tallow used. When lathered it opens up into a beautiful spicy/woody scent with an undercurrent of oud. Layering some more wood on top with Cubebe was just lovely.

Crangere cut through it with a shock of fruit that complemented the soap and splash in a really nice way. I should remember this combo.

The 921-M is still a great razor. Smooth, close, and comfortable shave with no irritation.

Last time I used a P74 I got it up to 103 uses. I don't plan on doing that again, but I didn't plan it the first time, either. It just kept going.

Great shave. I'm starting to learn what this cream likes, and it works really well.
