First and foremost for a personal reason: it was the last book my father advised me to read before he passed. And second because it’s a beautiful logical puzzle, as most of Asimov’s work.
The Prydain Chronicles by Lloyd Alexander. I have come back to it as an adult more than once and I’m always thrilled that it holds up. The growth of the main character through the series and his commitment to being a good person makes me come back to it over and over.
I love these books too, I first read them in my teens, I was so sad when Coll died and Math son of Mathonwy, the redemption of Achren, and how Taran becomes a man
I also love the borrowing/adaptation of Celtic mythology and places. Great stuff
I was 11 when I picked up the first book in 1995, I remember eagerly waiting for the second and third books to come out. I didn’t realize how much it affected my world view until I reread it as an adult and WOW it really left a major impression on me.
Pullman is one of those authors that I will instantly purchase any book I find that I have not read.

I read Always Coming Home by Ursula K. LeGuin in my teens. It was a very important book to me that I keep coming home to.

The first three books in the Red Rising series, absolutely love them. I also just love good sci-fi dystopia books so I am biased.
