Virtue can be either just a generic good thing, or in the context of the seven noble virtues, something can can let you be closer to the divine.
In either case I think this is true. Being patient for things you want or other people is a good thing in itself, and doesn't have to be a stepping stone.

They say that patience is a virtue, but I disagree. I believe that patience is the protein that you use to build the muscle of virtue.
